Ukraine has lost some convoys as well - looks to be the work of Mi-24s or similar - one of them was around 2 miles of lorries, Urals, etc. they even shot up the ambulances.

Both sides seem to not be protecting stuff, maybe just not possible in the situations who knows, as they should.

Maybe by "tanks" they actually mean "armoured vehicles of any kind". Would be a massive ambush/tank battle to have 56 actual tanks destroyed in an ambush... on the other hand a load of BMPs, a few tanks and Russian conscript infantry afraid to dismount/exit the vehicles then perhaps more feasible.

Ah, that makes even more sense, especially after there was a call by the Ukrainian authorities for the population to attack Russian fule trucks... I guess they've already seen that quite a few units have run out of fuel and equipment has been left abandoned by the occupants as a result.

While I think Trump is a grade A piece of **** you're not wrong, I'm pretty sure if it hadn't been for Covid putting the world on pause then Putin would have started making moves on Ukraine as soon as Biden moved into the white house. For all his negative aspects Trump was the strongest US president since Reagan when it came to standing up to Russia militarily (not economically obviously as he weakened sanctions and started letting them sell their asbestos in the USA again lol), the dude straight up publicly humiliated Putin in Syria lol.
