It was only what - a week or two ago, when western leaders were appealing to Russia not to invade and to pull their troops back. The response at the time was “it’s hysteria by the west” “it’s fabrication” “it’s all misinformation” “there are no troops or invasion force”
Yet 7 days later here we are, who the hell would be willing to trust anything Putin says right now? These are his actions and the Ukrainians must fight with all they have.
As soon as you arm someone, they become a soldier and will be shot at. Its a dangerous strategy, but needs must in the absolute worst situations.

Of course they will change if nothing comes of the peace talks, I said this myself days ago and it was most others here who felt no it was just Russia losing the war and incapable of penetrating the capitol and that rhetoric is still echoed here.
My concern is we are back Putin into a corner, apart from an apology from Putin and a full retreat (never gonna happen) I don't see a way out for him

By your recommendations I will of course look favourably on Putin if he wishes to invade and conquer my country. Barely trashing the place at all over there.
So from what we have seen so far most of the Tanks, APC's are old (30 years) + i bet the nukes they have threatened probably don't even work properly.
I do however fear that Ukraine is not out of the woods yet, he's getting desperate and now using thermobaric weapons and iskander missile (they can use nuclear payload). I do have to question why he's offering the ukrainian civilians safe passage and pulling his troops back, if i have to guess if talks don't go to planned he will probably use artillery of Kiev "if i can't have it no one can attitude". And with sanctions now in place we are on a knife edge of someone (madman) who has nothing else to loose.

what there is more sanctions that can be done? whats left sanction wise? thought swift cut off was the final straw?
They are not in the worst of situations it’s a bad one but Palestinians have had it much worse and so have Middle Easterns.

There are more sanctions, for example not all banks have been cut off from SWIFT etc.
But the next step up is a full embargo of the Russian state, a la North Korea
Probably they get accepted into the EU.
