You can shop around, while the cap is the same, they don't all charge the cap.
Which suppliers are accepting new customers at rates lower than the cap?

Guess you missed my last post. LolThey are all within a couple of £ of the cap, except for Octopus but only for existing customers. If you find one which isnt then please let us know!

They're all similar I agree but you may as well go for the cheapest. Luckily I'm with Octopus so will get there low rate for current customers.

Even a few £££ if all it takes is a phone call why wouldn't you change.
Better in your pocket than someone else's. Unless the phone call costs more than that.If Octopus will take you the typical user will save £2.

Don't know, I haven't looked i don't need to.So a £2 saving, if Octopus are accepting new SVT customers, is the best available by shopping around?

Does that just have to be done once then when it renews it stays at that price? I'm asking as we currently have nrtflix through sky but it's getting cancelled soon so I'll need to set it up.
My contribution was my first post on this matter, in that people should still check they're on the best rate they can get. Do I have to repeat it again and again. Thanks for your contribution.

£2 here £2 there who cares. Up to you if it's a meaningless amount of money it's not for everyone. You can say it as many times as you like but a typical user shopping around will save at best £2 on the price cap if the supplier will accept you.
and the same is going on in many office blocks nearly every building in a city/town has its heating on and lights on all the time when nobody is there.
Does anyone know the British Gas standard tariff? Because I'm an existing customer it won't show me as there are no current tariffs cheaper than what i have...no ship Sherlock. And trying to get a quote as a newbie is doing nothing
Stop talking nonsense.
