Yes, but I thought the Dems led by Biden was the answer, just like people said it would be after getting that "nasty orange man" out.

Why is it that the current crop are always worse than the last? Wait and see what happens in the UK once the Tories are out. If people think things are bad now, they haven't seen anything yet.

Do you think that Biden personally passed this? I'm no fan of his but he's still better than "nasty orange man".

I'm not sure if you're aware but there's a lot of countries with more restrictive laws than the US for abortion. Abortion isn't some universally accepted thing where America is an exception.
It absolutely should be, and it should be the right of the women to have the option to choose.

I am aware. My comment was really to nuke it in general. It seems over the last few years the people who run the country are blind to what actually goes on there, they don't care for their population at all. Well, the ones with money are cared for but the rest can go **** themselves..
edit: judging by some friends who have US friends on FB, they want out of the country. They are sick of it.

Alright, but there are countries much worse than America that no one seems to give a ****. America basically only said that it's down to the states to decide, and people can elect whoever they want to make that decision. If women and the population hate the abortion laws in their state they can just vote someone else in.

You do realise this passed because Trump appointed three Republican Supreme Court Justices, right?

The religious nutty part of the USA really pulls down what should be a great country. They get so much right IMO; from personal success being something to admire, though gun rights & to ingrained suspicion of socialism. Then stuff like this jumps out.

I wasn't specifically referring to roe v wade.

I suppose Trump is responsible for everything and anything though now we're talking about it.
This is his fault, and indeed anything the SCOTUS throw about in the follow-up of this mess will be his fault, and best of it all, he doesn't are, he has no clue and probably no opinion on abortion.
The US is falling apart, utterly divided, broken, no middle ground, and throwing rubbish like this around is hideous.

Frankly it is back to Churchill and his comment on 'the average voter'
If a state is 1% in favour of rep. they will ban abortion for the entire state.
A state 1% in favour of dem. they will allow it for the entire state.
Yet.... allowing abortion doesn't actually effect anyone who isn't pregnant. Disallowing it effects all those who are pregnant.
Travel isn't an option for the poorest, they can't afford to travel, they can't afford an abortion in another state, they can't afford the child, the ghetto grows.

With Justice Thomas also wanting to take another look at the contraception, same sex marriage and same sex relationship laws, sounds like America is going to be a lovely place to be soon...

If it continues, soon his vote will be worth only 3/5ths of the vote of the white justices, well apart from the 3 female justices who won't be allowed to vote...
