I wouldn't trust the Russians to do anything sensible...recent reports seem to indicate that they may actually be planning to stage something there.
Nuclear power should be respected and the Russians have an absolutely terrible track record on that front. They don't care.

Fukushima and Chernobyl were very different though, if they blow up the reactor cores then it will be Chernobyl 2.0

At that point I honestly think it would be seen by the rest of the world as a nuclear attack against multiple nations considering the intentional nature of the act, due to the fallout etc.. and would probably result in a MAD retaliation. Pretty sure the Russian Leadership recognize this also.

Chernobyl was a massive runaway burn off including materials in the reactor which aren't present at Zaporizhzhia - it is exceedingly unlikely to happen like that at Zaporizhzhia even if they blow up the reactor(s). The environment spill of radioactive material and gases would be much more localised and much more like Fukushima 2.0. Even in a worse case scenario the amount of toxic material and gases circulated by weather systems would be far lower than Chernobyl. Of a bit more concern would be what gets into the groundwater - it could render a significant amount of land very hazardous to life connected to the Dnieper.

Having worked a bit in and around Sellafield, Windscale, it gives me the absolute collywobbles :confused: what even a minor incident could do to that place. I hope that the Ukraine plant being later and better constructed would be much safer but a sparrow farting in Moscow leading to unforseen consequences would not be impossible in my view.

Yes that's right, Russia used an off shelf cheap Chinese robotic dog that anyone can buy online to try and trick the world into thinking it has robotic weapons systems

 
All these attacks in Belgorod is clearly to suppress Russia's ability to restart their campaign against Kharkiv which allows Ukraine to focus elsewhere. Russia's only options are either to overhaul it's entire supply chain to be diffuse which still relies almost entirely on rail or more likely just send a force with limited munitions with no prospect for resupply at great cost, suspect they may opt for the latter if Ukraine is looking to gain enough momentum to encircle Kherson. Assuming news spreads among Russian forces that they're being used in that way I can't see much enthusiasm and it could well shorten the siege for Kherson with an near-immediate mass surrender.
