Well how can some of you guys blame the gov for this current mess?

You can blame all of the governments, but some, like ours are worse than most.

Lack of investment in nuclear and renewables, not setting up a nationalised energy supplier, allowing private companies to profiteer, lack of subsidies for low earners.

Italy have invested £42,000,000,000 into subsidising costs, energy tax breaks for business and grants for low earners.

France - £38,000,000,000

Germany - £51,000,000,000

Norway have capped the maximum a household will pay, footing 80% of anything over that.

Does anyone have any recommendations with regards to boiling water/efficient kettle? In my household the kettle boils 9-10 times a day, we never boil more than what is required either.

Is it worth boiling a full kettle once in the morning and storing the water in a flask? Someone do the maths!

Up 1p/day for both gas and electric, or £7.30/year.

Disappointing from ofgem, at least its only a small bump.

No that's worse as the water is losing temperature in the flask, therefore wasted energy. Boil only what you need and use it straight away - you can't get more efficient than that.
