Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

I made the mistake of going over to Twitter today, a huge mistake.
I've never been particularly anti, or pro, Monarchy but some of the hatred that's being spouted is truly horrific, IMHO at least, I had to step away otherwise I would have spent the whole day shouting at people on the internet..

It's an odd sensation, she's always been a constant figure that's been there and you don't really imagine ever losing, but I feel oddly emotional about it, I've got other stuff going on so perhaps its a cumulative thing as I tend to be one of those that bottle stuff up and ignores it and then there will be a trigger, I'll have an outburst and the carry on as normal...

She will be missed

I popped in another forum for a while and wished I hadn't, I realised that the mods here actually do a very good job, generally, especially with things like this. Thanks.

I know I am controversial at times but some of the stuff that was allowed about her life and death was thoroughly repugnant.

For all his faults, Johnson is a great writer, his tweet was top drawer

Absolutely, and, as much of a **** PM he was, he always had a tell, if he was being dishonest, or talking about something in which he didn't believe, he would stutter, umm and error, but when talking about The Queen, he's solid.

I was also impressed with the amount of time he spent meeting the people outside.
Considering his mother had only died the day before he went beyond with the greeting the well wishers today, although I was thinking, Covid is still around so might not be the best idea shaking the hands of everybody

I'm not a royalist, I'm pro-republic but I still have massive respect for the lady for dedicating her life to her duty. It didn't really hit home until I watched The Crown how long she's being doing the job. They better finish that series coz its great!
