Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

I think it's going to be quite fascinating for a range of generations and those of us who are not into monarchy to experience a coronation and see what happens with the transition.

Removing E2R
New stamps
New money
New portraits in government buildings
Changing all references to Charles
All the military elements
Etc...

It'll happen again in our lifetimes for Willy as well.

I wonder if Oz and NZ and other commonwealth countries will stick to their threats of leaving the commonwealth?

There's no denying the impact the queen had across the world. I've been listening to foreign radio and that's all they're talking about. Dozens of heads of states will be coming to UK. Except Putin of course!

Some people just don't like the attention being elsewhere or the fact that it just so happens they're not the most important person in the world.
The amount of ******* and whinging I have seen today is about the football being cancelled is unreal, after 70years of service I think that is the least we can do

Why cancel x over y?
Why largely leisure activities but not work? (Granted there are those who are involved in the work of organising football/some other recreational activities that have been cancelled arbitrarily)

Also football isn't getting cancelled anyway, just postponed.

Was talk of what to do with the Great North Run this morning but decided to go ahead, as a hard thing to postpone, not the mention the charity aspect of it.

TBH I’m in the camp of cancel everything for this weekend and the day of the funeral, but a lot of people feel otherwise

I lived up to my name this morning. I told the Daughter of a friend, she's one of those slightly dim people that idolises similarly dim people on social media, that she had to get rid of all her coins and notes with the Queen's head on them because in a week or so it will be illegal to tender them as payment. Told her to do is as soon as possible as come Monday all the banks are going to be rammed with people trying to do the same.
