I think First Direct might be tied to the device but I’ve not used them for years so that may have changed.
It hasn't changed. If you deactivate the digital secure key on your current phone then you can activate it on the new one. if you don't deactivate it then you'll need to call them to get them to start the setup again.

AppleCare+ do you have it and what version of it, I have had it for years now and never made a claim, but thinking it’s only £200 for a phone over £1000, should I take it out again ?

Shipped for delivery tomorrow. Timing is a bit pants as my other half is on a girls’ night out this weekend, so won’t be passing the 12 Pro to her for almost a fortnight

Her current Oppo PoS is the absolute worst for putting calls on hold if you so much as breathe near it, so two more weeks of waiting for her to realise it’s all gone quiet not because I’m ignoring her but her phone has decided to play silly buggers

I’m buying my phone through business and will keep it for two years so decided to take it this time around as I’ve never had it before. I just went for the apple care+ for £200 I do have bank insurance if I somehow loose it

All over the world...
Oh well no movement on my pre order that’s meant to be here between 3-10 October. Was kinda hoping I’d get it today but looks more likely that it will be be here later this week.

Spoke to an Apple specialist and they weren’t of much help. But then they can only see what I see.

Today would have been ideal as I’d have time to set it up as rest of the week, I’m busy with work and won’t have much time to set it up. Plus I’ve got to send my 12 pro away as part of the trade in.

Thanks for the response. FYI for anyone else who ordered from Amazon I placed my order on the morning of the 10th (14 pro 256gb space black), got an email yesterday 16th saying it will be delivered tomorrow 18th.
Lucky guy. I ordered the same from Apple directly two hours after preorder opened (9th?) and mine will be delivered next week apparently.

Normally yes but not getting it for my 14 Pro. I'm going to upgrade my Curve card to Metal which includes mobile and travel insurance for £150 a year. If it all goes horribly wrong then I'll switch back.

Mine has just arrived - a 14 Pro in Space Black. Lovely colour and I've upgraded from an iPhone XS so was well due (the nail in the coffin for my XS was poor battery life since upgrading to iOS 16). The thing that has stood out the most is the ProMotion display the phone feels crazy fast and I thought my iPhone XS was no slouch until I got this. Dynamic Island is a nice little touch and works quite intuitively and the camera is good and the battery seems to be holding up after it's initial blitz of transferring from one phone to another. Turned the AOD display off as I personally don't see the point in it with me having an Apple Watch. Really happy with the upgrade so far.
