Same here, 4890s.

Tbh I didn't have that many problems with it until one card died, drivers seemed ok.

Not getting hopes up, obviously going to release it at crazy prices unless they've changed due to market conditions.

Do they need to sell a lot... Or a few. How many did they manufacture I guess.

hmmm not sure about that. if the 7900 smacks the 4090 people will probably wait to see what they've got in the midrange whether nvidia bring out their midrange first or not.not saying it's likely to happen mind...

Caring is not the same as being able to do it that way.

We know the yields are good but what they don't have is volume. Why delay the small volume cards?

I am sure AMD would love to launch their entire product range before Christmas but the reality is we probably won't see the full range for another 8 months.

The 7900 reference won't beat the 4090 in terms of raw performance, the 4090 FE is too juiced up and running so borderline that it pretty much guarantees that Nvidia knew how fast the 7900 was. The bigger question is whether the 7900 beats the 4090 in terms of efficiency and outright raster-based technical superiority.

Yeah, looking at a possible upgrade for my 3700x - if the 7xxx is worth going for then will stick with AMD CPU for the improvement from SAM, however if an NV GPU is a better option, then I have no incentive to do so.

One interesting thought in the AdoredTV video was that AMD can get better volume with the smaller chips on the expensive nodes, better yield, and the other chiplets on the cheaper nodes. Whether that is enough to meet demand is another thing but should give better volume that Nvdia given similar wafer numbers.
 
AMD has done very well this time to hide performance. They have pulled an Nvidia and not provided AIB's with working drivers until tomorrow, so AIB employees can't run benchmarks and leak performance.

The question is, is that a good or bad sign.... :p

Just like nvidias PR show, I'll be taking amds event with a massive pinch of salt too. I think on the whole these cards will be very good though and it is safe to say will defo be cheaper than nvidia, only question left is how much cheaper....
