The question is, is that a good or bad sign.... :p

Just like nvidias PR show, I'll be taking amds event with a massive pinch of salt too. I think on the whole these cards will be very good though and it is safe to say will defo be cheaper than nvidia, only question left is how much cheaper....
AMD like Intel, tend to be more realistic with their charts when doing presentations.

Everytime, what people forget is that it's a first time chiplet design, if you don't expect driver issues you must be in dreamland.

we'll see , if its really well priced with performance I will take my chance , having owned cpus and gpus from AMD in the past with no issues pretty confident

I'm guessing we won't get performance numbers today. Are we expecting a card to come out cheaper and faster than 4090?

they'll show numbers competing with 6000 series and 30 series and people can work it out from that , maybe against 40 series but as it was recently released maybe didnt have enough time

Framechasers speculated it would be a similar performance increase as it was from the 2080ti to the 3090ti in raster, but a bigger boost in 4K. He didn't talk about Ray Tracing.

So mostly re-launched older games with an RT mode tacked on?

Old or not, a lot will still be replaying them :p Also, 5 out of the 7 games are "new" so it's mostly new games and I wouldn't say that RT was tacked on for portal either. We'll find out soon enough just how tacked on RT is for cp 2077 and witcher 3.

As above, not so much with gpus and it will no doubt be using scenarios where amd sees the most benefit in but tbf, they are quite good with their slides, if they aren't good in something, they will just do the bare minimum or avoid talking about it, much like they have done with RT since RDNA 2 announcement, same as any company though.

Slightly off topic but those old cream cases where dangerous. The amount of cuts i got from working with those cases I lost count. The worst one was when I did not even feel it and was dripping blood all over the motherboard. You youngsters never had it so good.

I'd rather see them absolutely smash out solid drivers from day 1 and a more value-for-money price rather than go with uber performance with hit-and-miss drivers for 6 months at a higher price.
Up until my 1080Ti I had over half a dozen AMD cards in a row, from an X1800 up to a 390X and had basically no driver issues at all. It has always perplexed me how many people complain about drivers from AMD but maybe I just got lucky.

Solid product launch, stick it to Nvidia and force them to either reduce market share or reduce price would be great for all involved.

Yup, similar experience here, the only one I've had any issues with is the 5700XT, but my current 6800 is rock solid.

I would point out that between my experience of current AMD drivers and Nvidia drivers, the AMD software was far superior in terms of tweaking the card performance/voltages/fan curves etc.

Tom Howard quote there, not a good example of something actually working as it should lol
It was tongue in cheek ;) The reality is though my personal experience is there's not a lot between them these days. I do like the Nvidia FE build quality though, AMD could learn a few lessons there, very nice card.

If the chiplet design is a lot cheaper to produce. AMD have a solid chance to embarrass Nvidia pricing and make people question why they are so expensive.

But the question is, do they go for huge discount, or just go a little under Nvidia price.

Smart choice would be to make smaller profits on each card sell a lot more cards and make a joke of Nvidia. But i think they would rather make more dollar per card.
