More than likely same here.
ok cool.

I just dont see a game out now or on the horizon that demands that sort of power.

Star Citizen for example is only going to become even more playable over the next coming patches(as in more stable higher FPS without upgrading your system)

Thats thanks to the new renderer called Gen 12 that is planned to be fully added into the game within the next 3-6 months

@humbug I am excited for that actually and means our gpu's will have a new lease of life so to speak.

COD MW2 can be run on a potatoe system and so does fifa, two of the biggest recent released titles.

The uncharted game and spiderman game also already run superb on last gen hardware.

StarField is the next big game coming out but i doubt that will struggle on a 2000 series card nevermind a 3000 series card.

@TNA Do you know any games coming out on the horizon that is deemed the new "Crysis/ flight sim" game that would require a 4000 series and beyond?

Cool. Let me know when it comes out and I will install it. Last I installed it was maybe 2-3 years ago and it did not do anything for me. Before that the previous install was just the hanger and ship. Lol.

Not really. Anything I am interested in will not be any more demanding than Cyberpunk 2077 and I can run that 60fps just fine. It is Unreal Engine 5 games that may require more grunt. But by the time they start coming out 5000 and 8000 series cards will be out anyway, so no rush whatsoever.

What about when overdrive RT mode lands :p ;) :D

But there isn't a lot on the horizon tbf, most of the main ones have been pushed back to later next year. Only things that come to my mind which I'll be playing is the above +

- portal rtx
- plague tale requirem when its RT lands
- avatar 3 but that's late next year
- witcher 3 remastered but will no doubt get bored after all the waffling :p
- atomic heart in Feb.
- black smith wukongnext year
- starfield next year

Hence why I'm in no rush either.

AMD has done very well this time to hide performance. They have pulled an Nvidia and not provided AIB's with working drivers until tomorrow, so AIB employees can't run benchmarks and leak performance.
Since AIB really do need to know the actual power output, do AMD/Nvidia give them a power-virus driver (no real performance but it gets hot), or are the expected to make their own heaters in the exact shape of actual die?

I guess when designing coolers, having a precisely shaped heater might be a given already, but this only handing out working drivers at the last moment does sound like trouble waiting to happen if the real thing behaves differently than the spec says.

If the AMD drivers were decent, I would not hesitate, but they've been the reason I've avoided AMD for over a decade. If the drivers were as good as Nvidia, then the 7900XFX should match the 4090. But more importantly it would be worth the price.
I think that's not been the case for some time. Maybe if you play very old games or emulated stuff it might be true. I have for instance, had a lot more trouble with multi monitor on my 3060Ti than on my AMD cards where it "just works" ;)

drivers issues hasnt been case for ages now , I actually prefer the AMD drivers lets you tune in its drivers instead of having to use MSI afterburner with nvidia

Tom Howard quote there, not a good example of something actually working as it should lol

So mostly re-launched older games with an RT mode tacked on?
