it's a huge push for nvidia, seems AMD not so much, I don't get how people can't be disappointed with that.

whys it not allowed to be critical of AMD? it was a choice to have gimpy RT performance they should be trying to catch up with nvidia

... how can you be lost?

you were sayingRT isn't importaint to competitive multiplayer gamers, I'm telling you a bunch of other features that aren't either.

does that mean GPUs should be crap at those things too? high res textures, shadows and shaders etc
What if Nvidia made a card 4 times faster in RT but priced at $5500? Would you have bought that card? And if not, why not? It is damn faster, why letting such a small detail as the price stopping you from having the best RT performance? RT performance is never enough, don't you know? :)
Is there a limit where someone should start questioning if he needs to pay that much for some features?

RT won't be a big thing till lower down tiers can start pushing it which they can't and that's where the most of the market is

I've noticed that too - since AMD's presentation I've been told over and over again on various forums that my 3080Ti is unusable in RT and nothing below 4090 is usable anymore. :D And no RT = no gaming, apparently. :)
What was acceptable last gen and this gen are surely measured by the moving target set by the market leader

if RDNA3 isn't really an upgrade path for a 3080/90 then surely, it's considered a failure?

Pretty sure some console games already have RT

Yeah 30 FPS with other stuff turned off let's party

Considering the RTX4060 12GB was going to be $900 and the RTX4070 16GB is nearly $1300,plebs can have a rebranded RTX4050 8GB for £600 which will definitely help RT become more used.

Oh really? So CP2077 reaching way over 60FPS with RT won't run anymore on my GPU now? :( Metro LL either? Or did I miss perhaps some superb new games full of RT that require min. 4090 to run 60 FPS in 1440p UW? Or... just a thought... you are spewing NVIDIA marketing BS that has no base in reality? :)

If you don’t care about RT, what is the point of achieving those super high fps numbers which are well past the point of diminishing returns? I couldn’t care less if I am getting 130 fps or 170 fps in games because I will never be able to tell the difference past 80 fps without an FPS counter. So then why even upgrade from a 3000 series or 6000 series card? This is apart from the fact that you will run into CPU limitations as well. If you discount RT, there are almost no games on the market which the older generation cannot max in raster anyway. DLSS and FSR have pretty much covered the older gens in raster for years now.

Seems people who would never buy AMD are hating on AMD for not producing a product more powerful so they could avoid buying it anyway.
Or in other words - they wanted 4090 to be forced to get cheaper, so they could buy it. And now they're mad that it did not happen. Not that they would ever consider buying AMD no matter what. Because that's how competition works after all, doesn't it? :) On the other hand, we see this every generation really, same complaints, from same kind of people.

And conveniently people are already starting to forget the 4060 12GB is not an improvement on the top end Ampere, costs more and the 4070 16GB is double the price of the previous gen.

But you can get 80 fps with RT enabled on a 7900xtx easily. Enable FSR and that's it. Or you can use an Ampere card + DLSS. Why would you need a 4090 for that?

Modern warfare 2 actually has mins of 59 FPS that's with 3080 with 13900k at 1440p ultra

My monitor is 1440p 240hz

But,but muh RTX!!! But don't worry,Nvidia will have your back. They can launch the RTX4060 12GB for the low price of $599 as the RTX4070 12GB and the RTX4070 16GB for the low price of $899,and all will be forgiven. Nvidia will jebait its own users!

But how could that be? It has no RT! Nobody needs faster raster anymore, it's dead, only 4090 and RT counts! :(

Don't you know the future is shiny latex clothing, polished steel and shiny granite floors? S and M simulators need aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaRTX!

So much more realism than real life, you will never want to go out ever again. Think of all the money saved on never needing to ever go again?

I can see the next move.. I get it. Jensen will then bring out RTX Sunglasses to filter those reflections, you look cool, and it adds another frame along the way!!
