City Fibre

YouFibre sounds like a good ISP from what I've heard, they're not available in my area otherwise I'd give them a try.
I'd love to see a ping/traceroute to 1.1.1.1 or similar if you could provide @crazyDAJT

I have been with them just over two weeks. So difficult to judge yet. It took a while to assign me a static ip so I didn’t have to worry about CGNAT.

My UDM-pro pings 1.1.1.1 to monitor connection latency and it’s basically welded at 2ms all the time. Pinging from a windows VM to 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1 also provides a result of 2ms, not an average all results are 2ms

Edit, my UDM-pro speedtest results are very consistent 920 down 935 up.

Wow that's really good if you're from Nottingham, surely that's to Manchester/Birmingham then? Wonder what ping to London's like.
Would love to switch to that ISP whenever it comes available for me.

Got an email just now stating the following from CityFibre.

"We've just built a brand new broadband network like nothing before, and it's on your street.
We'll let you know as soon as it's available for you to connect to. Once it is, you'll be able to pick from a range of broadband providers and enjoy faster, more reliable broadband so nothing can slow you down."

Hopefully not much longer :D

if you're from Nottingham.
Not anymore…. Closer to Manchester now.

I only went with the 1gig package as it was actually cheaper than there 500. And the only other option was 150.

I like the synchronous connection, will come in handy when I sign up to backblaze

Planing to do some online gaming tomorrow or Monday to test the latency out

Youfiber (as I understand it) are one of the challenger providers, there sister company netomnia is laying there own infrastructure.

They are specifically targeting areas that are low down the openreach build plan. If you already have a 1gig capable it is unlikely they will come to you.

Another thing. I’m almost 100% shore I’m the first person in the village they have connected. So it will be interesting how the service evolves over time.

Oh aren't you on CityFibre's network with YouFibre? They joined onto CityFibre's network about 3 months ago.
The only ISP's in my area that run on CityFibre are Vodafone/TalkTalk/Giganet/Zen/Zybre for me currently.

I’m on the Netomnia infrastructure, Youfiber are the only FTTP provider I have access to. They look to be priced quite aggressively (there deals are consistently changing, they have let me hop onto a better deal before the install)

So it’s 1gig or less than 25meg for me at comparable price.

I wasn’t aware they where on cityfiber but have just looked and looks like the have come to some agreement.

I have my 1gig connection coming this week with BE fiber. 33 a month was certainly the best deal I could get from all the new providers my area is able to get.
Maybe time to upgrade the Wi-Fi

What’s your budget?
No real set budget, but obviously don't want to spend more than I have to :) Been looking at eero 6e pro and deco xe70 so far.

Obviously the quad band orbis are a bit of a stretch :p

Currently using 3 year old deco p9's which have been pretty good, but want something faster with better coverage now.

Thing is, to have 6e speeds everywhere, ideally you should have a cabled or dedicated backhaul, and nodes in each room. That costs money.

I have a single UniFi AP in my house (~1600 sq ft) and I get 450 Mbps pretty much everywhere.
