I don't know, I think that in the world of business the best run companies are the ones that consistently get away with murder. City will get a slap on the wrist for these breaches and it will 100% have been worth it. Sounds well run to me.

That was hilarious but ultimately kind of explainable in the sense that he was a last resort panic buy at the end of the window, if they had landed other targets they probably wouldn't have bought him at all. So if they had bought him for £23.5m in July and then bought someone else in the same role in August, it would be a bit of a waste.

To use an analogy, Moysey is dancing with a munter early in the evening, but he fancies his chances landing something better later in the evening. Before he knows it is 3am and the lights come up with her the last girl standing, so he gets her in the taxi but it's now the late rate so the cab fare is £28 instead of £23.50. In hindsight he should've just taken her home earlier for less money and had longer to train her.

Tbh I suspect it happens quite often and there is a logical reason for it, the whole Moyes, Fellaini, Utd combo just makes it funny.

To activate a buyout clause the entire fee needs to be paid up front and as we know clubs rarely do this, typically because they don't have the amount of cash required to hand. It's very possible that Utd consciously made the decision to negotiate a slightly higher overall fee with Everton so that it allowed them to spread the payment over 2-3 seasons rather than come up with £23.5m on day 1.

I think Pep actually didn't want to manage United purely because he would forever be in Fergie's shadow.

Man City was the perfect match for him because he had free reign to do what he wanted. Plus they were in a much better position than we were at the time.
 
Klopp was approached by Fergie to succeed him but turned it down due to timing and maybe also for the reason above. Klopp didn’t join Liverpool until 2015.
 
All comes down to the Glazers, mismanagement from the very top. There is an argument that people didn't want to try and take over from the very best but everything since shows it wasn't just that.

Klopp has previously spoken about how he was approached by Sir Alex Ferguson over succeeding the legendary Scot after 27 years at United in 2013, but the timing was not right for him to leave Dortmund, and United eventually appointed David Moyes instead.
