Summer Transfer Window 23/24

I am baffled at Chelsea's spending, not because of the number but because of the owners. They are not owned by an Oligarch but an investment group and sooner or later they want a return on their investments.

They've spent nearly £900mil since they bought the club, that's $1billion dollars, but where is this return on investment going to come from? Just TV rights and CL football? To make a profit from that they need to reel in their spending, and by a lot. They are not going to get money by reselling these players they paid £100mil+ for.

Surely Liverpool can just go back in for Lavia? They must be able to convince him with more regular football, he won't be a starter at Chelsea with all the players they have now will he?

Why did Liverpool leave it so late in the window?

Fab and Henderson leaving most likely left them in a bit of pickle but they must have known about it mid July and it is mid August now.

I imagine they're exhausting through their plans and having to react in a window which is clearly very active in the midfield area, so having to navigate a lot of shifts/variables... They could be on plan F/G/H god knows by this point...

Plan A) - Bellingham + McAllister - Plus Fab / Henderson / Thaigo.
Plan B) - McAllister / Szoboszlai - Plus Fab / Henderson / Thaigo
Plan C) - McAllister / Szoboszlai / Caicaido or Lavia / - Plus Thaigo
Plan D) - McAllister / Szoboszlai / Lavia - Plus Thaigo
Plan E) - McAllister / Szoboszlai / ???? - Plus Thaigo

Trying to keep irons hot on back-ups when other teams are also in the market... It can't be easy.

I like Klopp but he seems to be getting very catty with his remarks about other clubs transfer dealings. Most people understand the reality and they're not that hard off compared to most - Liverpool can compete financially in a window.

this window has been brilliant!!

Heck I can save you a couple of Bob. Just find out who Brighton is going to replace Caicedo with and just cut out the middle man.

It really looks like it will fail unless they become the most dominant team in the league

Chelsea just seem to have an unlimited pot of cash and just keep throwing it at every player they can in total scatter gun fashion. Zero thought or planning. No idea how they bypass the financial fair play rules too. These only seem to apply to certain clubs for some reason.

Save yourself hundreds of millions and get the staff and scouting team from Brighton. They even know how to get good managers!
