Chemical attack in London...

Have they still not caught this guy? MET is a laughing stock it really is. Its not been fit for purpose for a long time and this just proves it.

It proves nothing of the sort. Multiple forces are involved in the search, but until someone comes forward with a sighting or information or he uses a phone, bank account, address or something else that the police have already linked to him, finding one person in a country of 67 million isn't going to be easy.

To have not surfaced in all this time, it seems increasingly likely at this point that he's dead.

I wonder which gang chopped him up?

Should really change gears and pour resources into finding said gang then charging them with the crime he was meant to stand for.

That's some spooky foreshadowing...

Get the Celebrity Hunted trackers in. can't they find anyone in 20 mins.

No thought not, not when it actually matters in the real world.

But surely with all the CCTV in London, on buses etc, you would have thought the police would have been closer to narrowing down where he is.

I think the police said something about going through thousands of hours for the 4 hour window they were looking at.

If they know he went onto the bridge and cannot find any sign of him getting off it via fixed CCTV around the ends, or the busses there is little chance he got off it on foot, and as no cabbies have come forward, and the busses are a bust that basically means that it would either have had to have been a private vehicle, or into the water.
Either that or he hung around on the bridge without being spotted for long enough to be outside the window they were looking at, but I'm going to guess they looked at a lot more than just the 4 hour window or whatever they mentioned for the cameras in the immediate area that they lost him.
Slightly ironically, IIRC some bridges known for suicides actually have cameras to help authorities spot potential jumpers from memory.

London has tens/hundreds of thousands of cameras, but to check them for a single person requires actually having a human review them, often in near real time to be sure.

Strange there isn't CCTV on the bridge itself. One would think that jumpers, or other risks such as terrorists, or criminal activity, would suggest that cameras covering the actual bridge would be a good idea.

You can't reliably cover every single inch of every potential target with CCTV from every possible angle so there aren't any blind spots, or areas that lose coverage say when a bus drives past, or if it's foggy, raining or snowing, and just night time reduces the capacity of pretty much every camera...

As it is probably half the cameras in London are 5-10 years old and poorly sighted, and those are the "good" ones as the cost to replace the cameras and potentially the infrastructure to support them is really high, so you don't tend to swap for better/newer ones unless you have to (and for large camera setups that can then take years, especially when you've got idiots cutting them down because "ulez" or something).

For me, he's either in hiding some place, or he's dead...

The problem with the hiding theory, is that his face looks really messed up - without proper medical intervention, it's going to get infected and really mess him up... it's a really bad injury he has.

The theory around him going in the river does make sense... I don't see a practical way, how he's made it out of there without being seen by anyone since it happened, not even a single sighting.

I think the most likely explanation is that he is dead.

Could be just the police stating this to make him lower his guard a bit and make a mistake.... /tinfoilhat
