I dunno man, you complain about Sony’s prices then say you’ll buy a Switch 2 from Nintendo, the king of high priced games and underpowered hardware.

Can't wait until the 26th :-) and btw yes you are all right none of you should buy it (at least I have a chance then of getting one if the scalpers are out.)

You need to just get less emotionally invested. This is a niche product. It's not a next gen console.

If you want the best console at the current time you can splash the cash. If not. The current crop is fine.

Its like getting all worked up because an RTX4090 is expensive. It is.. But nvidia have alternatives.

£550 with the optical drive for the PS5 PRO... The PS4 Pro was £350 with last of us part 2. The price of the PS4 original on release was £350, the slim on release was £250, then the PS4 PRO came out £100 more than the PS4 Slim and with a game.

The PS5 slim with optical drive is £450-480 when not on sale, on sale can be found for £400 and two controllers and a game.


Also the PS4 to PS4 Pro was a larger hardware update than what PS5 to PS5 PRO is. So why do they think they can ask double the price now ? It really is £800 with the optical drive .. apples to apples here .. So if we do what they did back in PS4 days the PS5 PRO should be now max £550 with the optical drive.

Couldn't even include the stand... unreal.

It's like they know the price will go down like a **** sandwich, let's not give them anymore ammo... no no no, let's make them pay for the plastic stand as well lol

Of course it’s applicable… if it adds 10% to the price. Only 5 states have zero sales tax. The price without tax is £560 = 732.36 USD. It’s not Sony’s fault our tax is high.

The price of everything has gone up in the last few year tho so it can't really be compared to last gen. I do believe that Sony are genuinely struggling to get the cost of the original ps5 parts down.
But I still think 700quid without the drive is crazy. Even 700 with the drive and the 2tb hard drive would have been easier to swallow.
 
699 for a digital is a swift F U to the console gaming community.
I really hope folk don't pay this ridiculous price, if they do you know what the price is next gen consoles will be

The whole semiconductor industry is different now though isn't it. Prices are up across the board.

I bought an ssd last week and it was more expensive than it was a few years ago.
