NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Anyone seen this on the other site?

Price Guarantee on your pre-order price:

  • • If the price drops, we'll refund you the difference at the time of shipping.
  • • If the price increases, we'll notify you in advance—you can choose to accept or cancel your order.

So, am I reading that right? They can increase the price you paid?

Called it

To be honest if the stock issues are as widespread as reported i imagine many of those pre orders on other sites will end up being cancelled by the retailers as when the next wave of cards come in theyll either be selling at a loss or no profit at all.

At least with ocuk you know if you got a pre order you will be getting it.

I can't see that anywhere if were talking about the partner site. There are no pre orders open?

Yeah thats because overclockers have charged about £300/400 more in some cases than the other retailer so they have the room to pre-order cards at a higher price and still make a profit.

Other retailers are charging a more reasonable price and as the pound changes against the dollar, yes it will affect the prices of the GPU's... but i can guarentee the prices will still be cheaper than OCUK unless they do a massive slash in there pricing.

This is why I still order with OCUK. I've never had to deal with stuff like this. Sure the prices are higher here, but I can't tell you how many times I've had to deal with BS from other retailers.

5080 due to be delivered around 4pm today, so just glad I don't have to deal with this mess anymore.

Not surprising. After all, this is the outfit that during the 3-series launch took likely 4x as many preorders for MSRP 3080s than they could fulfil. They then would reach out to people to upsell them to Strix, Auros, Suprim models. It seems they learned that it's just easier to change the prices once preorders are taken.

where can you see what number you are in queue?
If you talking about another site not OCUK.

Use order tracking at the bottom of the page. Enter the invoice number and post code will give you the details, on the same page you can see a button for Live tracking which you can see your queue number.

I decided to go for the 5090 FE, purely for the aesthetic. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to grab one.

Does anyone know if there’s usually a little more FE stock that dribbles onto the Nvidia site over a few weeks post initial sellout?

Or will I have to resign myself to getting an AIB if I’m not prepared to pay scalpers?

Same here (186) - actual typical I’m placed in a queue with folk who have the resolve of steel.

Have you received a dispatch window yet? Mine just says “awaiting dispatch date”.
No not received any eta yet matey , just saying the same as yours currently. Hopefully once CNY is out the way stock can start flowing through and get these queue moving and hopefully a few lose that will to hold on :)

Very difficult to say. This time around the Chinese New Year shut down may result in a post launch drought. Gamers Nexus worked out all of the FE cards given to reviewers were produced early January which gives an indication of how tight things already were. But who knows.

Price isn’t going down is it?

Glad I cancelled, if the 9800x3d is anything to go by, it’ll be several months before you see the launch prices again.
The Fe is the only one that might stay at the same price.

Tbh you can’t blame retailers for maximising profit, it’s the way things work, seems like overclockers latched on quickly.
