** Kingdom Come : Deliverance 2 **

Getting 55-60fps everything on experimental.

No HDR in this game?
Win11 AutoHDR adds some highlights maybe the odd skin colour at night or try RTX HDR for nVidia GPUs but no native HDR. I also had to lower the gamma slider quite a bit to get decent contrast on my OLED monitor.

Had my first crash. got killed then couldn't reload just kept making a bong whenever I clicked try again. Also after my latest save I spent about 20 mins fiddling with levelling up and some inv maintenance then I got rekt by some bandit and had to redo it all again. HATE the save mechanic in the game already. Just gimme an F5 quick save ffs.

Edit: Also, sleeping in my bed at the herb womans house is apparently suddenly a crime

Just download the save anytime mod from Nexus.

I’ve been playing Fallout London for my open world fix until starting this today, it’s the definition of “generational upgrade” on the visuals.

Great to see Henry is still Henry!

9900kf and a 4090 giving 90-120fps at 4k (using whatever the basic “high quality” preset is, haven’t gone deeper). I was about to pull the trigger on a 9800x3D but don’t think i’ll need to just yet. Spotted highest power draw on the system to date (that I’ve noticed!) at 675W.

I absolutely hammered the original and capped most of the skills, so rather than start from next to nothing, I decided to mod the game to carry over some of my previous stats. I kinda hate myself for doing it, but then my justification is that I was an absolute master at half-inching stuff from innocent people, and that's a skill that comes in very handy; especially in a game where you start off in your pants.

127,000 online on Steam currently. i'm 9 hours in and still not sure what i'm doing (I absolutely suck at combat), really enjoying it though. It's also been surprisingly bug free for me (playing on Linux as well, just for the LOLs).

EDIT - I'm an idiot. After 9 hours I've just remembered you have to equip bolts to use the bow/crossbow, what makes it even worse is I finished the first game where you had to do the same iirc...

Experimental kills fps. I get 110fps at 4k with ultra settings, but only 65fps with experimental settings DLSS Preset F (K doesn't work). I can't tell any difference in visual quality between the two, but my eyes aren't as keen as some others on these forums.

Do HDR through the Nvidia app. No frame gen either, let alone MFG, which seems daft given it's a single player game. I suspect it's unfinished and these may be added at a later date.

Incidentally there's loads of mods available already on nexus and a couple of reshades.

Also the game is using really old DLSS dll (v3.7), so you might want to slot in the latest 310.2

Is the core gameplay good enough that the game could still appeal to someone who doesn’t really give a toss about having conversations with NPCs and isn’t that interested in story-based games ?

I always go into these types of games with the best of intentions to get immersed but within half an hour I'm just skipping through conversations without a care in the world about the story.

I hated the combat in the first one but enjoyed some of the quests and the open world nature. Is combat improved in this one to the point where it is actually remotely fun?

I would say that given what you say there you would likely not enjoy it
