Using the settings in that vid:

7800XT MBA card no driver tweaks.
Core Ultra 285k (Intel baseline profile) and with no info on ram speeds and timings in the Chinese leak, I used a 6400 XMP profile which is what reviewers were given as baseline testing for Core Ultra CPU's.
Win11 24H2 Intel PR5 fixes and bios updates in place.

Now comparing this to the original Chinese leak on X and using a 7800XT to compare with (at the supposed same settings) , looks like the 9070XT is a little monster considering the amount of shaders it actually has.

All boils down to street prices now, not imaginary MSRP's.

Regardless of what we think of that Daniel Owen dude, he also found out the settings and benchmarked it with a better CPU (9800X3D) and same GPU.
His score was 35691 and 209.53 fps.

So yeah, performance in line with other leaks, the 9070XT looks to be roughly a 7900XTX. All it needs is a good price.
Would be interesting to see how the non-XT compares, but we'll have to wait a few weeks for proper reviews & benchmarks I reckon.

All about pricing and availability, like was said above, if they they pull a manufactured shortage of supply to artificially raise prices it will be DOA, likewise, no point pricing it like current 7900xtx prices if it performs similar.

If it actually can match the 7900XTX in half of the games I play and is priced around £600 then I think it's time to upgade from the old 3080FE. If the prices is the same or £50 cheaper than a 5070Ti then I'll wait for next gen. I have a price limit which I will not go over.

ive always been a fan of the blower style cards. They're just more aesthetically pleasing imo.

I don't think anyone was expecting the 5080 to be quite such a wet fish, so AMD likely weren't anticipating that their previous gen XTX was only a few % of performance off for raster for the 5080.

Wasn't it something similar with the 5700 release in that it was an amazing little card compared to the competition but they had nothing in the stacks above it.

The hopium I'm having is that they have seen the **** up by Nvidia (if ever there was a time to take back market share it's surely on potentially the worst Nvidia launch of all time), delayed everything, and will now try and release something like a 32gig 9080xt for like 1k which will compete with 5080/4090, pure hope on my part for something reasonable to save the GPU market.

But these days, based on a lot of comments in this thread, you also have to consider RT performance too. That's constantly mentioned, along with FSR4, as a big selling point and value add over the 7000 series. If we're not then this looks similar to the 7900xtx with 8GB less VRAM.

5080 is slightly faster than xtx and 4080 super in raster

Maybe the models with the huge coolers and three 8 pin power connectors are the factory overclocked models?

There is probably no better time than right now for AMD to really bend Nvidia over, proper Mic Drop moment.

But we all know AMD often fail this close to the finish line.

Honestly right now is perfect if the leaks on performance are true.

AMD know Nvidia have been able to artificially inflate the GPU market prices for a while now and have somewhat profited from this, but they still have extremely low mindshare like they did in the CPU space and look how that turned around.

They could effectively reset GPU pricing and actually make a ton of money if they were smart.

looks like inventory has been stockpiling for a few months while it appears Nvidia paper launched, so hopefully day 1 stock should be decent and prices should be great as long as and thus us key, AMD do something remarkable and sensible.

Drop the 9070XT at no more than £550 if it indeed does have performance around the 7900xt -7900xtx mark.

Pricing anywhere near the Nvidia 4xxx cards let alone the 5xxx cards would be suicidal for them as people will still just buy Nvidia.

They would essentially render the 5070/xx models irrelevant, or Nvidia would have to massively reprice their entire stack to not look like the money grubbing scum they already are.

I honestly feel Nvidia have disdain for the GPU market and it’s understandable given it’s now one of their smallest revenue streams compared to AI / Datacentre.

Same could be said about AMD but I feel they can see there is an opportunity for them to really chew into the GPU market like they did in CPU vs Intel.

This should really be their Ryzen moment in GPU but we all know how they live to fumble.
