NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Inno3D entry level card just came into stock for £2600 and sold out instantly. Insane. Same price as the MSI Suprim preorder on launch day.

You got a 5090 yes, but did you get an actual 5090 or a Zotac 5090?

Wow! I have never seen anything like this before. Wonder if it is a binning issue affect a particular batch of GB202 dies which ended up at Zotac.

Thank you mate!

It's funny, I was having a few doubts with people suggesting to wait a few months, which I guess can make sense. But as soon as you connect the GPU and boot up games and see the FPS double in my case. Those doubts just disappear haha
Yeah sod waiting..... This is 2020 all over again

My only regret was not buying the 5080 on the 30th just because it's was a couple of hundred over MSRP

This **** show of a launch just keeps getting better and better. What on earth are Nvidia's QC dept doing?

I am lucky in the sense that if I waited a few months and the prices drop by £100, it wouldn't make a difference to me, I can live with that. And that's months of not enjoying a good card and getting enjoyment out of it.

Plus I've been really into single player games recently, mainly because I play on a 4k projector. It's so fun! So the hours I'll use the GPU means it's super cheap entertainment and cheaper than my other hobbies.

Everyone's different though!

Ah that sucks but hopefully more 5080 stock trickle in for you

Got my 5070Ti. Very very happy with it. 3070 with 8GB was so limiting! DLSS4 is awesome and MFG is actually quite good, the latency at 4x is a bit too much. 2x & 3x is great. But just being able to crank out all the settings to max at 4k is fun!

5070TI from a 3070 is a very nice upgrade, enjoy it!!

Trying to sell chips that fail to meet spec and hope no one notices, apparently.

*edit* May be driver-related?

Everyone is in a different position regarding what they see as good value, a worthwhile upgrade, etc. If you are happy then that’s all that matters and everyone else can do one. :D

Lol, Nvidia in further daylight ROPbery shocker!

If that's what you want to believe
Even if the ROP reduction is a bug, the power limiting on the 5090 is not as good as the 4090, unfortunately. Computer base have some great charts you can customise and across a sample of games i play the 5090 is only 15-20% faster when limited to 450w.

Hope you are enjoying your 5090 though :)

The article states the missing ROP card performed worse than the FE and they didn't understand why, so I doubt it's a bug.

Add that to the list of things we need to check now. Melting cables and a fully capable die.
