Please let me know what it's like for coil whine. Got an order placed elsewhereSo.....my 5090 Asus TUF Gaming OC arrives today......have a new PSU as well to go with it.....(wasn't confident that my 1000w would give me enough head room).
Slightly nervous about the ROP issue.......but lets see.....Nvidia say its 0.5% ....so in theory 1/200 chance......but will be anxiously looking for that magic 176 number when I boot.

wtf? It's an Nvidia 5 series thread, it's literally the place for him to post this kind of stuff.Cool....story.....bro
Biggest issue I have with cards these days is the memory shortage. NVIDIA seem to be deliberately starving us of memory. Certainly one darn good reason why I wouldn't buy a 5080.
Absolute killer. I am certain there are a lot of 4080 owners who will not upgrade because of that.Yeh. No vram increase on the 5080 especially was silly.

It’s this kind of negative input that boils my pi..Cool....story.....bro
Enjoy! At least you know what to look for and any problems will get sorted.So.....my 5090 Asus TUF Gaming OC arrives today......have a new PSU as well to go with it.....(wasn't confident that my 1000w would give me enough head room).

It depends on the PSU, I've got a 1000w Thor P2 and it handled the 5090 TUF OC like a champ, granted it's one of the best ones you can buy but still, if you've got a good quality 1000w, I doubt you have anything to worry about.So.....my 5090 Asus TUF Gaming OC arrives today......have a new PSU as well to go with it.....(wasn't confident that my 1000w would give me enough head room).

I got in my DeLorean
That's precisely why I'm waiting for a fixed 5090 to replace my 4080 (non-Super).Absolute killer. I am certain there are a lot of 4080 owners who will not upgrade because of that.

If 16GB VRAM becomes an issue before the next generation, I'll give the 5080 away on here
It isn't an absolute killer at all outside of some niche use cases. 4080 owners shouldn't be upgrading to a 5080 anyway, and if 16GB was an issue for them, they shouldn't have bought that card either.

Yeah I agree. My 3080 can definitely run out of VRAM at 4k in some games but if I change some settings to lower the VRAM used, the FPS is appalling so I’m needing to lower settings anyway so all in all it’s not really affecting me that much. I would imagine the 5080 will end up in many years time in the same place. If 16GB VRAM becomes an issue before the next generation, I'll give the 5080 away on here

I'm not saying I support nVidia's VRAM gimping between the top tier and the next tier down, it's just that in reality it's not going to be a problem for 99% of owners. A £1000 GPU should have more, but if it had more, it wouldn't be £1000 with nVidia's strategy.
