DCS works fine on my 4080s at 1440p max setting? do you have a system problem
Depends what CPU and ram speed he has. Most flight sims are CPU bound. That why i went for the 9800x3d and 64GB ram.

I'm on 4K. No problems with the system. Apache + the Marianas map instant action mission begins at 17Gb VRAM and in a few minutes reaches 20+, although this may go down depending on where you fly. It goes up and adown, but always way above 16Gb.DCS works fine on my 4080s at 1440p max setting? do you have a system problem

9800x3dwhat cpu do you have?
yer ive just seen you said 4k... so yer.9800x3d
Apache + Mariannas is a heavy combo, Nevada and Su-25 would be sub 10Gb Vram wise... But still, at its best and heaviest, DCS devours VRAM.

at 1440p i do get to about 10/12gb of usage
3 week on Tuesday what would you do if still no stock?
call them and change parts or cancel, what is it there waiting for ?

Power supply and card
did you get the card from NVidia like you first hoped?
Ok I thought you managed to grab an FE modelI went for the palit gaming pro 5080
I would suggest you look at 4090 than the atrocious 5080.

What resolution do you game at? If 4K+ or VR, then see my posts above. The fundamental problem of the 5080 is 16Gb VRAM. For flight sims, I would narrow the choice to 3090, 4090 and 5090 (also AMD has some cards with 20Gb+ VRAM, but then you lose RT and DLSS). The fundamental problem with the older cards is their lack of warranty, although this depends on the seller. The 4090 is old tech and might be more stable now but in a year time or so that will change and people say. Why did you get the 4090 then.
