Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

They are an embarrassment. Every time I get a delivery from evri it goes the same way.

1. We have your item.
2. Your item will be delivered today between X-Y
3. There's been an issue and your item is delayed.
4. No further updates.
5. Your item has been delivered.
6. Me. Confused. Wondering where it has been delivered.

Just happened again today.

newcastle tho innit. probably trynna figure out how this newfangled electricity stuff works

Holy thread revival!

My turn to have issues with Evri.

To update and close this out.

I opened a formal dispute.

Their response was to ask me to measure the parcel and submit photos of the parcel with these measurements in view.

I responded asking how could I measure a parcel that has already been collected and delivered.

However being quite smart, I had booked a proof of delivery photo and this was taken next to a standard UK external door. So I gave them standard dimensions of said door and the letterbox (sans faecal matter) and used logic to state that the sizes claimed could clearly be seen as false.

I got a response from a "senior manager" who stated that they were closing the case and cancelling the claim for additional payment, citing a 'clerical error' which had wrongfully attached the claim to my account and not the correct one.

Why I rarely take notice of surveys

Notes to editors

1. In January and July 2025, Yonder Consulting surveyed 4,058 people aged 16+ online. The sample was comprised of UK residents who had experience of UK delivery companies in the six months prior to the research and was weighted to align with the UK population profile on age and gender, region, ethnicity and social grade.

Had an absolute nightmare with evri recently where a parcel I sent to friend never arrived. I'd paid for the insurance but they initially asked for proof it hadn't been delivered, which is a tricky one, and because it was an item I'd had for years but was still valuable they wanted to deny the insurance claim because I couldn't provide a receipt for it. Took weeks to sort.

Last two deliveries I've had from Evri, they've just knocked and ran, leaving the parcels in full view of the road.

Pee poor company.

They seem to deliver the majority of my items nowadays. Fortunately they've been quite reliable. Had the same guy for a long time and he does wait a bit at the door or knows the safe place to put the parcel.

Purchased a very expensive item from elsewhere, delivery by Yodel. Item never arrived despite saying they had it and updating the retailer it was delivered. Was able to prove otherwise and got refund, they admitted it was lost. Will never purchase anything if Yodel are delivering.

A guy I used to work with on the doors was one of their drivers. Claimed big ticket items like TV's etc regularly go out the back door.

Despite EVRIs tracking being a bit vague at the end my recent deliveries all have arrived.

Last two ParcelForce deliveries. Similar items but different routes. Both tampered with during transit. One had damage on the item where they had opened it.

Neighbour opposite has had an item stolen from a recycle bin because the DPD driver though that was a good idea. They also had two new laptops removed from the shipping boxes in transit and that was UPS.

I just assume all Amazon deliveries will be left outside.

So good luck out there.

They actually knocked? Wow you have the gold standard of Evri drivers. I rank delivery companies by their standard of delivery:

1. DPD. Will send text to let you know they're coming. Will come in the building and knock on door and require a signature/id.
2. Amazon. Will leave on the doormat outside whether I'm in or not.
3. Evri. Will leave on the doorstep outside the building in the rain/for any passing tom dick or harriet to stroll off with.

Worst delivery company rating? Yup.

What should they have done instead?
Not left it and marked it as undelivered, then the customer has to re-arrange delivery via the tracking? Just like it used to be before the started hiring **** wits from agencies/job centres who don't want to be there!

Evri delivery today. I was at home looking out the front window. I saw him walk to the bin and put it straight underneath, didn't even approach the front door.

I was in my kitchen yesterday and saw a stranger in my garden, I watched him to see what he was doing ready to bust out and confront him when he put a parcel by my back door and left. He never rang the door bell or even came near my front door despite packing his van right in front of it.
Leaving the parcel in my back garden in the rain.

Evri are really the worst delivery company by far.
