I went for a bike ride and noticed a grey plastic bag in the corner of the communal entrance.
I checked and it's someones Evri package... so they had gained access to the building and then just dumped it inside the door..
It's a mix of social and private tenants in an area with a bad rep...
Amazingly it was still t here when I got back about an hour later, I took my bike up in the lift and checked if the number was near me.
It was only 6 doors a long so I went back down and got it for them, some kid answered and said thank you.
so people are clearly at home...
How Evri became the UK’s most hated delivery company
From parcels that look like they’ve been savaged by a pack of rabid dogs to packages that mysteriously vanish into thin air, the courier has accrued enough horror stories to rival the Goosebumps series. But is it really any worse than its rivals? Helen Coffey looks into the reality behind the repwww.independent.co.uk
Had something delivered by Evri the other week, whist waiting for delivery recieved the scam text saying there was a problem with my address and to update my details. As I was waiting for something from Evri I took notice of it.
Phoned the local Evri foreman who put me in touch with their delivery driver, turned out it was a scam and I received the item next day. I didn’t fill in the details anyway as it was obviously a scam.
We still receive awful service from RM, but now Amazon have joined them in their couldn't give a fig attitude to doorstep deliveries, although to nominated stores is really good with both.
Locally Evri is still decent enough.
Our posties are really good, I have noticed Amazon seems to have gone downhill recently though - parcels being left on the doorstep, sometimes without even a knock/ringing the bell! Thankfully nothing expensive so far, but surely they're just opening themselves up to claims of items not being received?
I use Evri to send parcels and I get nervous every time, like if the parcel will get stolen from the drop off point before being collected for the depot. Also the insurance has so many exclusions, if something goes wrong theres no cover to speak of. so far though things have been okay
