Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

Ordered a couple of fire alarms from Ebay on Wednesday delivered by Evri and they turned up today at 13.59 delivered by Safelinks Parcels.
Can't grumble about that.
All these problems people have must be location.

And they are fitted and working.:D

I went for a bike ride and noticed a grey plastic bag in the corner of the communal entrance.
I checked and it's someones Evri package... so they had gained access to the building and then just dumped it inside the door..

It's a mix of social and private tenants in an area with a bad rep...

Amazingly it was still t here when I got back about an hour later, I took my bike up in the lift and checked if the number was near me.

It was only 6 doors a long so I went back down and got it for them, some kid answered and said thank you.

so people are clearly at home...

That seems to be standard practice for Evri now. The bloke who does the rounds for my street used to come to the door but now just dumps the packages in the communal area at the foot of the stairs. Luckily the neighbours are decent.

Had some deliveries from them today. Good service, delivery earlier than expected. Our courier now is a Trinidadian windrush generation immigrant in his late early 60’s. Absolutely quality fella, always have a giggle with him.

"Became"? They were already there - I doubt anyone except the intellectually challenged were fooled by the name change from Hermes...

A turd by any other name...

My Hermès were horrific in NE London for us. Lost packages, false “we delivered it at X time/date” when my house CCTV showed nothing and the one **** who just tossed the package of the side gate.

Luckily, the contents were well protected from the impact and the rain it sat in for 12 hours.

The local Posties and Amazon folks were great.

Had something delivered by Evri the other week, whist waiting for delivery recieved the scam text saying there was a problem with my address and to update my details. As I was waiting for something from Evri I took notice of it.

Phoned the local Evri foreman who put me in touch with their delivery driver, turned out it was a scam and I received the item next day. I didn’t fill in the details anyway as it was obviously a scam.

I call BS :p

The only way I've ever managed to speak to someone from Evri on the phone is by reporting that the delivery driver has damaged my property and waiting for a callback

We still receive awful service from RM, but now Amazon have joined them in their couldn't give a fig attitude to doorstep deliveries, although to nominated stores is really good with both.

Locally Evri is still decent enough.

Our posties are really good, I have noticed Amazon seems to have gone downhill recently though - parcels being left on the doorstep, sometimes without even a knock/ringing the bell! Thankfully nothing expensive so far, but surely they're just opening themselves up to claims of items not being received?

Pretty much the same here, with dropped parcels marked as handed to resident to one being left behind the bin, even though I was in and not marked on Amazon as being delivered. I found it 2 days later, totally drenched and lucky for a decent seal as the grey grout inside was not affected.

Postie wise it isn't too bad and is more when they are tasked with the difficult job of delivering a parcel within 48hrs (which I've now seen on their site - states Hope to do within 2 - 3 days) and the fact that if you update the delivery options, no one seems to read it.

I've got a really good local Evri driver but I live in a small village so he knows everyone. Always knocks and if im not about leaves it in a safe place. The non-local ones when I have something bigegr delivered though are hit and miss and often "can't find" my house so say no one was home

I use Evri to send parcels and I get nervous every time, like if the parcel will get stolen from the drop off point before being collected for the depot. Also the insurance has so many exclusions, if something goes wrong theres no cover to speak of. so far though things have been okay

I don't understand why you'd use Evri as a sender? I try my best to avoid retailers who use Evri, and cancel orders if they don't warn in advance and I end up get a shipping notification from them (making it clear that the reason I'm cancelling is their choice of courier).
