Glastonbury & the BBC.

IIRC all the backbone of glastonbury is put in place in about the week before it.,.

It's one of, if not the biggest and most complex outside broadcasts in the world* that is done from scratch, and these days they have a fraction of the staff on site providing more coverage than they did 20 years ago. It's incredibly complicated, and a lot of the time things that can go wrong to stop the broadcasts can be simple hardware failure that can happen any time, or are fixed within minutes.
Depending on the actual fault it might be up on iplayer later.

*Unlike the olypics etc they have to put everything into place specifically for it, including the most "basic" stuff like power. IIRC these days it usually involves sound and vision from a dozen or more stages with dozens of feeds.
It's back in full now, yep just letting off steam my cooking was interupted!

Things I'll try and see:
Biffy Clyro
Nile Rodgers & Chic
Franz Ferdinand
Charli XCX
Snow Patrol
Shed Seven
Future Islands
Hard-Fi

But yeah real thin on the ground this year.

Defqon or Glastonbury?

Alanis Morrissette voice was strong and superb.
Gracey Adams is good, did a very fun cure cover.
I enjoyed Lewis, was fine.
I think franz ferdinand had a good set, got a few on with them, made a festival feel of it.

aren't they syndicating it ? but they have cut back on coverage from previous years where, like the olympics, you could previously find most of the venues on iplayer even if they didn't broadcast them live,
have several good quality/320 rips of previous glastonbury sets (cure & killers) that listen to regularly in car.
sky are nipping at their heals for good quality concert broadcasts.
(yes bbc lost olympics rights to eurosport, our loss - monetization of sport).

I’m kind of surprised that ELO aren’t playing Glastonbury, since they are on their ‘final tour’ and doing some UK dates imminently.

I wonder if it just didn’t work out, or they will do a surprise set or something.

I was lucky enough to catch them in London with Richard Tandy just before the end.

so neil young live @10, but not necessarily subsequently on catch-up/watch-later/ffwd

What he does not like is his stuff knocking around for ages on freeload sites. You could always record it for personal use.

I am recording John Fogarty (Creedence Clearwater Revival - swamp rock), Sir Rod Stewart and will probably watch Neil Young.

will have to catch up with pulp tomorrow

productions good on neil young - not like the guns&roses they messed up with invisible rose - listening on r2 stream with fview pictures.

First time I've heard or seen Doechii but she has blown the other headliners out of the water. Probably don't take the kids to one of her shows though.
