Nvidia increased memory prices on AIB's and most e-tailers have followed suite in advance perhaps.

I was browsing last night and happened to notice the 5090s are about $400usd higher now than when I check a month or two ago

Unbelievable. Yet Nvidia keep persisting with this stupid connector.

BUT BUT It's user error..

Still shocked they have not been recalled or some legal action taken regarding this dangerous connector. Even AMD cards with this connector have had the same issue with a lot less wattage cards. I am now starting to think this was done by purpose and by design to add another planned obsolescense feature.

Think my GPU is broke. Booted into a black screen. Motherboard post code is 9C which is reported to usually be USB device issue. Unplugged all USB but same issue.
Plugged my monitor into the onboard vga and i can boot and see windows. Windows is reporting a code 43 error on my 5090.
I have tried:
Reconnecting the power cables
Reseating the card
Cleared CMOS
Safe mode DDU to uninstall the nvidia drivers
Rolled back drivers (although this never happened after a driver update).
Tried changing PCIE link speed in the bios.
Turned off fast boot

Anyone have any other suggestions for me to try?

Did you try another GPU? It could be the slot, or your GPU. Sorry to hear. This issue happened with my 5090 FE.

The onboard works. Can't easily try another slot at the moment due to waterloop and not enough slack to move the card over. When i have more time this evening i will drain the loop and try a different slot.

So far the smartest way to deal with that connector issues but reality is it needs to be replaced with something safer. If you understand how electricity works you will understand the reason of 48V used if not you will not understand the "fix" is actually safer than 12V currently used.

Way too much hassle trying to do it peace meal. Its just Asus spending some of its RnD budget that it has from its overpriced products

If they release a GPU that runs on 48v, you'd need a new PSU to go with it as well

Yeah, 25% of the current will make a HUGE difference. Wonder why this wasn't a thing once the world discovered how **** that connector is.

I'm guessing that 24v wasn't an option due to PoE being 48 to 56 volts and therefore easier to implement.

If these cards had been 24 or 48 volts, I'd have bought one. But as things stand, the rules of electricity prevent me from purchasing.

I'd love to see the PCB of that 48v ASUS card cause the GPU will still be near 1v under load right, so now the VRM on the PCB needs to convert 48v to 1v instead of 12v to 1v, so theoretically you need better VRMs
