More leeks.. ?

Edit.. After a second look, one of those posts says Sep 23rd and the other says Friday, I guess Overclock3D are not very quick at spreading the news?

Edit 2.. Or maybe its just me

We already know all there is to the Zen6 IPC increase.

With a 13% IPC increase alone is will score:

158 in Cinebench 2024 ST.
3,966 in Cinebench 2024 MT.

640 in Cinebench 2026 ST.
16,484 in Cinebench 2026 MT.

For reference on Cinebech 2024
A 32 Core 64 Thread Threadripper 7970X scores 3,685 MT
A 64 Core 128 Thread Threadripper 7980X scores 5,331 MT
A 64 Core 128 Thread 9980X scores 6,680.
A 96 Core 192 Thread 9995WX scores 10,540 and is the fastest CPU.

As a 24 core 48 thread 10,000 series being about as fast as a 32 core 64 thread 7.000 series is probably about right.

Edited: i doubled the core count thinking that was right, its actually on +50% core count, adjusted numbers to reflect that.

I'm new to this thread and I haven't bought a new PC in over 6 years so I'm not up to speed on things. I'm currently thinking about whether I should wait for the new CPUs or just get a new PC now. I guess it depends on when the new CPUs come out.

One option is what I did. Get a low end CPU, I have a 7600, use that until the new ones arrive. I decided to skip the 9000 series as it is surprisingly good. Waiting for a Zen 6 X3D replacement.

In general its sort of a terrible time to buy depending on what you need it for, but there are no signs its going to get better in the next few years.

So I would look into what can your current PC not do and what you want it to do.

Then see how much you would have to spend to be able to do that and if you think that cost is worth it.

I don't have a PC at the moment. My main computer is an Apple Mac Studio which is great but I want to dual boot Linux and Windows 11 for various reasons. Windows 11 will mostly be for gaming and Linux will be used for programming and other tasks.

BF coming up so you may get a deal or two on parts.

This i suspect pricing is generally depressing
Prices for everything is depressing.

I want to upgrade my Plex server but limited. It would be great to buy a new CPU\Mobo\RAM but with ram prices being what they are I've been looking at AM4\LAG1700 parts as they use DDR4 which I have.
