Adverts for lawyers - repulsive.
Adverts for payday loan companies - repulsive.
Adverts for big business "charities" - repulsive.

I do not have an opinion on meat adverts. They obviously go under the radar of my conscious brain, and therefore are not offensive to me.

On a related note:

Adverts for Colgate toothpaste. FFS Colgate, why do you have 50 different kinds of toothpaste? Does your whitening paste not also tackle gum disease? Does your gum disease toothpaste not freshen my breath? Why do you have three different whitening pastes? Who is buying all these different niche toothpastes????!??!

This is exactly why I switched to OralB, and I find it a better toothpaste to boot. I was sick of a whole set of shelves of various Colgate crud, one for sensitive, one for whitening, one for optic whitening, one for enamel... Well I happen to have sensitive teeth with dodgy enamel and I want whitening. What do you want me to do; brush three times? :p OralB said it does everything, and it seems to do the trick. Colgate marketing fail.

OP I don't care about meat adverts but I do wish people were more food chain aware. My daughter will know exactly where her food comes from, but then again I'm not a hypocrite and I hunt for and kill my own food (venison, pheasant, rabbit etc) without qualms.

To be honest it's not nice the way they're killed and I personally would be willing to pay a little extra if they were guaranteed the most humane death possible but the love for meat is great and it's almost vital in us humans.

Most of our meat is Halal as we as a country have bowed over and given up our beliefs and let minority groups take over.

I can imagine many years in the future how we will be looked on as savages ?

Vegetarians? I think normals look on them as savages now, never mind in the future! :p

As a vegetarian I do face palm when I see these threads started, you just know what the responses are going to be, same every time. May as well just search for previous threads and save yourself the aggro.

And yet you still decided to click on it and make the conscious effort to type a response. Did you type it with one hand, or remove your palm from your face first?

Isn't the whole idea of veggies to not contribute to the meat farming industry? If they were to feed you meat, it would mean they'd have to buy it and by doing that they're contributing.

It's ok, the correct response to that is "I know you're a vegetarian, so I'll be having the steak I bought and cooked especially for you, enjoy your tomato" :p

That advert with the terminally unfunny Lenny Henry lying in bed snoring is the worst advert ever in the history of adverts full stop.

Which isn't a logical argument in favor or against, it's simply a personal preference (which is also void of any delusions & contradiction free).

Tbh the main thing which bugs me about meat eaters is the constant whinging about personal pet hates related to animals (dog festival, fur, hunting, eating animals they deem 'special', arguing about which method of slaughter is most ethical).

I eat meat because I like the taste. Of the above list of peeves the only one I really "whinge" about is slaughter methods. Yes, animals are going to die, but surely we should do our best to ensure we reduce the amount of suffering involved in that death?
