The Pascal GTX 1080 Ti Owners Thread

Wow. MSI needs to sort out their customer service.

I have just been reading the "mis-sold MSI laptop" thread and it sounds like people in the US had different terms of resolution to those in the UK - I wonder if the same goes for removing coolers, ok to remove in some parts of the world, hence why they are pushing you back to the retailer?

Had my 1080ti for a couple of weeks OC'd on air @ 2000Mhz and has been stable. Last night 3 crashes where system completely locks up same as a failed OC. I'm not great at OC'ing with respect that I dont go for every last Mhz I work in 25mhz steps or maybe 50 and that's good enough for me. Does everyone's first OC stay stable for a long time of do GPU's bed in and clocks get lowered slightly over time as the GPU beds in? We are all enthusiastic for an OC when a new card comes out but I've always had to drop my OC over time slightly to remain stable from the original a few months and drivers down the line. Maybe I fluked an OC close to max. Everyone experience this or just me not great at OC'ing? Does your new card OC degrade slightly over time?

Secondly, For my warranty validation for MSI it tells me to get a 2nd number from under the backplate! Anyone else bothered to do this or is it also somewhere else on the card?

Ive had it happen in the past but would guess its mainly due to a slight instability. The card may run fine on some games but not others (TW3 springs to mind). Or it may run fine for a few hours even several and then crash.

Why I always give my cards a good few hours under maximum load to ensure my OC is dead stable.
