Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - *** WARNING: SPOILERS ***

Re some of the discussions over the last few pages: anything involving time-travel is basically doomed to be full of plot-holes if you start asking 'what if they'd just...' so it's just one of those things where whoever has the Time Stone... you have to just switch your brain off somewhat.

Good advice. They can literally do anything they want once time travel is involved.

The ending:
Those that died. The two Asgardians are gone for good along with Gamorra and the Vision. Those that do come back are coming back changed:

Except...

In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine, and I feel they have more adventures to go on and things to learn about themselves and the wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we all inhabit.

And from the set of GotG2...

James Gunn has already started writing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to complete his trilogy, discussing the story with Pratt and having “some pretty intense conversations” with Saldana about a significant role in the threequel.

Nope, because if it's a two parter, the bad guy still won't win.

All the deaths at the end were meaningless. Were people sad at the end? I think most of the audience were wondering how Marvel were going to bring these characters back to life. To my mind they should have been more ruthless and fully killed off some of the characters.

Yep I'd prefer if the Avengers ended like that with no part 2

Knowing that Captain Marvel is somehow going to reset the entire timeline making death meaningless also makes that first part utterly pointless and a waste of a movie in the saga, the only way they could redeem it is if only those who were erased come back (pretty much all the new heroes), and those who didn't get erased actually get erased (A goodbye to the old guard heroes)

You don't "know" that though

Maybe only those wiped out with the soul stone can return and all other deaths are permanent...

I watched it again earlier. I enjoyed it even more.(still didn't manager to get through it in one go though, but at least this time I knew when the best time to go to the toilet was!...turns out I missed Dr Strange vs Thanos the first time I watched it).

One thing I noticed was during the credits, it says something like 'Arrested Development characters provided by whoever'. I read up about it. I never noticed it at the time. Without doubt the greatest easter egg of all time!

I've avoided his thread like the plague.
Just watched it, pretty epic.

Came into thread ready to read the gossip, only to get spoilers about the next movie...

Ny theory is that all those killed by the finger snap are trapped inside the soul stone. Those killed before that are dead and would require some time stone shenanigans to come back.

Notice how when Thanos uses the gauntlet to wipe everyone out he wakes up in a pool of water (water is symbolic of life) and the entire colour pallet is orange suggesting he’s inside the soul world.

My bet is Gamora is the key to getting the gauntlet off big purple. If she can escape the soul world (perhaps through the quantum realm via ant man?) then the trade that Thanos made for the stone is nullified.

Also, it’s possible that he won’t be able to use the gauntlet to such a great effect as it was pretty busted up at the end of the film.

God stop blarting. It was a mistake. I'm beginning to think Thanos was right ;) I was asked to provide a link by a mod who kindly provided the spoiler as soon as he was able . I was on a phone with hardly any control due to an intermittent internet connection so couldn't get enough signal to apply the spoiler.
Anyway, read and click this if you want:

I was avoiding quoting you since it seems you're not the only culprit, but it was actually your spoiler I read.

"The ending" still doesn't cut it when we're in a thread about IW1 but you're talking about IW2.

Anyway, I'm off to the spoiler free thread, hf :P

Can someone please explain to me what the point of vision is!? He does absolutely nothing in all the film's, he has an infinity stone...!

He seemed weak yea, they have him walking through walls in one of the other films, I forget which, if he wanted to hide the stone he should have just gone underground :D

Some of the comments in here I wonder if people have actually watched the film!

They explained this, he got surprise stabbed in the back and said "I can't phase" because of the injury.
