Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - *** WARNING: SPOILERS ***

I think anyone who died by stabbing, choking, pushed off a cliff etc is probably dead, anyone who dissolved into dust is probably going to come back.

Nothing stopping people being brought back due to the dust being reversed, but then killed off in a conventional manner for another twist :)

Considering how vision died, then got brought back that leaves it open for just about anyone that was killed in any way to be brought back.

Its been suggested by the scene towards the end when Thanos meets young Gamora again that she's in the soul stone by the yellow look to it all and everyone who got dusted is in the soul stone too.

something I have been wondering - Did Thanos really need all of the gems for his plan?

I'm just thinking out loud here, but the way I see it, in order to wipe out half the universe he might need:
Space gem to go where he needs to get the other gems, and maybe it helps the effects reach all of space? I don't know?
Reality gem to wipe them out
Soul Gem as the place they go to
Power Gem to amplify the power of the other gems
Time gem?
Mind Gem?

Or do they all work better when they are together?

I was thinking that this morning as well.

What specifically did the Mind-stone do that he couldn't do with the soul-stone? Why did that specific stone allow the finger click?

If Thanos was making half the universe disappear at random, without prejudice, then I guess he's pretty fortunate he wasn't one of them eh :p

His plan doesn't make sense either. In another 6 billion years the population will be back up to what it was, so does he have to go do it again? At that point you almost at the plot to the mass effect games.

Pretty sure he wasn't bothered either way - thought he gave an expression afterwards of "oh i'm still here".

The soul stone is the one that has the power to raise/take life, he just needed the mind stone to complete the set.

The stones augment the power of an individual stone and he needed them all to wipe out half the life in the universe. Note; only this universe... the stones are specific to this universe.

Could Thanos just not have made triple the grass, cows and mangoes in the universe. Everyone is happy then.

Well I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. It was a really tough to make a film work with so many characters. I had many chuckle moments with the Guardians, really really good.

Plainly the 50% are going to be resurrected that's the goal of the second movie and it does provide an opportunity for the original Avengers to get some serious screen time early on in the next movie.

I'll throw this out there, Thanos is not the bad guy for Avengers 4 in the same way Hydra weren't the bad guys in Age of Ultron. Thanos story has been done really well, the film is about Thanos really his story, his motivations, his victory. He will be defeated in the first act of the Avengers 4 and there is another villain with equally terrible goals but far more evil desires. I reckon Red Skull will be the bad guy somehow taking the gauntlet from a defeated Thanos. After all the story is very Earth centred, Thanos almost doesn't work because he's an external threat. For resonance the threat has to be human, our failings we're fighting. Roll out the Nazi a threat for Earths greatest heroes to beat a suitable end for the WW2 hero to sacrifice himself. Just my wild ass guess. I just have difficulty seeing how you get another 2 or 3 hours out of Thanos now he's won.

edit: Oh yeah and was I the only one that thought Stark's Iron man armour is getting a little ridiculous, shape changing nano nonsense.

You're probably right, I just can't shake the feeling there could be a twist of villain for the Avengers movie, the Thanos arc has been done really well and I fail to see how it progresses from here.
