Yeah everywhere has sold out of the Pro's. Apparently specialized understimated the demand for these (which is strange - they had enough for 2008?).

If i'm going to buy a Pitch I better do it soon!

The Pitch was new in 2008 and there were no or few magazine reviews for it. In 2009 practically every magazine rated it a class leader 10/10, so it sold a little better

If I could buy a new bike now I'd be looking long and hard at the Pitch I think, seems excellent for the money, and the colour scheme on the comp has really grown on me. Had a good look at one yesterday in Leisurelakes.

Save a few quid more (around £1200 I think) and look at the latest Boardman full suss. It's getting absolutely rave reviews, and the component spec is not far short of a £2K bike.

It seems a well sorted bit of kit

What are the main sources for decent reviews? Not really had a look who can and cant be trusted.

What do people think about Cube bikes? AMS Pro I think it is, red and white. The overall look of the bike looks 'busy'. Your going to get noticed riding that. Something different.

Not at spectacular as some of the beasts on here but I took delivery of my new toy last week:

I'm not that short either, had to drop the saddle for a stumpy mate to have a sit on it.

I've heard really great things about Cube bikes, so much so that I am getting very tempted to buy one myself.
I really like the Cube LTD Race but it's a few hundred more than I was hoping to spend. I am now thinking about saving for another 2 months just to buy this bike.

Apparently it got 9/10 in the MBUK magazine this month but I haven't seen the review yet myself.

Yeah Boardmans are superb value for money, not sure it's £2k value but still a great spec for the money.
The only problem is you have to buy them through halfords and I think I would rather pour bleach into my eyes than suffer their customer experience.

Can anyone recommend me some fast rolling XC tyres that also grip well. I've been running Specialized The Captains as they're what came on the bike and seem pretty good, just want to see if there is anything better before I replace the back tyre.

I tried the Chunders that came off my SXT and omg, it was shocking. So much rolling resistance and the added weight was horrible.

That is the only problem. Looks like you have to get it shipped and built in the store. Dont really want a 18yr college boy throwing the bike together tbh

I'm ready to order a Pitch but i'm not sure if I need a medium or large. There are none local that I can try, my LHS has now run out of the Comp version!

I'm 6ft and ride a 19" rockhopper which fits very well. Does anyone here who rides a Pitch / Enduro SL think I will fit on a Medium?

I'm 5'9/10 and ride a Medium Enduro SL, it fits me just about perfectly I think, if I were you I would go for large.

I'm 6ft 1" and both of my Specialized bikes are Large. When I tested a medium it was too cramped.

I'm not using my XC bike at the moment.
I'm running Specialized Eskar 2.3's on my Enduro SL and they are excellent - lighter and wider than Maxxis Minion 2.3's and they also provide more grip.
