** NEW SAMSUNG 750D & 950D True 120Hz LED Monitors - PRE-ORDER! **

Same as the 750s - they expect 'wider retail capacity' by the end of October. But with the way Samsung's launches have gone in the UK this year it is difficult to say. I'd like to think they'll be due sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure when OcUK can expect them but they've been pretty good with the Samsungs so far.

But the 750's are in stock :p

amywhere in the UK the 950's are in stock?

Only at OcUK. That isn't the same as wider retail capacity and that is the same reason Samsung haven't been able to give me one to review! But don't worry, other arrangements are being made ;). You can see how volatile and low stock is from the fact the S27A950 has slipped out of stock 'overnight'.

I thought that's what Kraven said. But I was watching the stock too and I think it's been 'overdue' for a while. And I assume you were watching more closely as you wanted to buy one! But yes the sooner this all gets smoothed out the better. Should push prices down a little bit too, hopefully before Christmas. Maybe that's what Samsung are going for. I find it amazing that these were originally supposed to be a March-April release and now at the start of October they are still difficult to get hold of!

In other news I should be acquiring an S27A750D very shortly and will be reviewing it in due course. I am a bit busy with other things next week so don't expect anything immediately but I am hoping to have it published before these things hit wider retail later perhaps later this month.

I don't think i can wait that long :( finger is over the buy button ;)

I don't want to give too much away - I hate giving early impressions before I've properly used a monitor and gathered others' impressions. What I will say is that it takes a fair bit of setting up (tweaking settings and the like) but once that's done it produces a very pleasing image. I still can't quite believe Samsung's default settings on this one though. Also it looks like the backlight uniformity could be better on this than the 950 series. I think the more conventional and less stress-inducing (on the monitor) stand design helps with that one as you don't have the same kind of problem areas and 'pinch' at the bottom.

I'm really looking at this monitor, the only question I'm having at the moment is 1920x1080 vs 1920x1200.

I keep getting the feeling that I'm going to miss the screen real estate.

But you would recommend it then?

I went from 1920x1200 to 1080p, and do find i miss the extra vertical space.

Sharpz I found these settings for the S27A950D on a review which may help but ur best off trying to calibrate yourself:

Contrast: 81
Sharpness: 60
Response Time: Fastest
HDMI Black level: Normal
Red: 45
Green: 32
Blue: 53
Gamma Mode: 3

I ordered the S27A750D yesterday and should get it on Tuesday (been waiting ages for this screen to come out! :)), will post my findings + settings on Tuesday night/Wednesday night as won't have much time to test on tuesday due to work
