Oh yes, none of this ordering the blue then convincing myself that the white is nice because I cant wait malarky :D

rooted the phone, but will keep it on stock for now as I have never run a droid on supplied firmware, so I want to see what the experience is like

There's a lot of benefits of the S III over the S II, but this video is yet another!


So much better than the SII! Something to look forward to when I finally upgrade, yay.
 
The camcorder being able to lock focus when recording is one of the highlight features IMO. Shame the audio pickup isn't very bassy at all though. Hoping Voodoosound should fix this :)

I don't think I will bother with a custom ROM any time soon until some revolutionary featureset is implemented. I'm finding the stock ROM, just rooted, is almost perfect barring the already mentioned lack of sliding of notification bar to adjust brightness and the green battery icon but I can live with those as there are workarounds :p
 
i have a question.

on the S III when the screen turns off can it still be turned back on again via pressing the home button? just like on the S II.

It's odd - ever since updating to ICS the auto fit page doesn't work like it used to. Annoying. This is the Sense browser reigns supreme.
 
Just got the phone and I love it :)

This is my first android phone so I'm not certain is there anything I need to do? Is it worth rooting the phone?

considering doing the same. going to be gutted to be without the phone for a few days but the camera quality is noticeably inferior to my old S2 which having read the reviews isn't meant to be the case!
