iPhone 5 Tariffs

Just a heads up guys, spoke to Three about upgrading etc and they mentioned that only the One Plan has free tethering, there's another tariff with unlimited data and this does not include free tethering.

I had a browse at threes sim only deals, and you can add tethering on the lower deals for another £3.50-£4.

Edit** its an extra £5 a month.

Best deal I've worked out so far is Vodafone SIMO £20.50 a month.
Phone: £529
Monthly: £20.50
Cashback: £60.60
Selling my BB9900: £150
Overall cost for 1 year: £564.40

Phone worth about £300 at the end of it, £265, approx £22 a month to own an iPhone for a year.
This is man maths at it's finest ;)

Vodafone offered this particular tarrif to me over the phone about a month ago with a £5 discount, gonna think about whether I actually want an iPhone before badgering the upgrades team.

However, I'm tempted by full monty sim only on t-mob as I will be able to move to everything everywhere, with the overall cost going up to £610.80. Gonna see what Voda come back with when I give them a ring :)

Need to be careful though...

T-Mobile only do tethering on the 1.5GB contracts, not on unlimited.

Vodafone are only doing Facetime on the new iPhone 5 contracts, any others need a VoIP add-on bundle for £10.

How do they stop tethering? If I buy the phone sim free and use wifi hotspot it can't stop me, can it? Or is this some retarded iPhone locked feature?

I don't have tethering on my BB contract but tethering works perfectly and I've used it extensively without voda giving a damn.

Because this is a feature of the phone and it only brings the menu up IF you have it on your account.

Unless it's jailbroken. The IP5 isn't jailbroken yet.

on a rolling month contract you should be able to add it when you need it though.

Yes.

I don't have a clue how it works, but they do it!

O2 do it to me currently, unless I jailbreak (or bought the tether app when it was sneaked into the App Store for a few hours) I can't tether unless I "upgrade" my legacy unlimited data contract to one of the new ones.

Yep, why pay something over 24 months if it's going to cost more. This is what bank companies do. It's called APR for missing payments. Don't people get it? Phone companies are making a killing because people pay less every month to pay more over 18/24 months.

But on the other hand, if you can't offord an upfront payment then OK. Keep paying more for contracts.

The thing is im stuck.

im with virgin and the ******s don't do nano sim. I pay £7 for my contract for 1200mins and unlimited mins.

so im going to have to leave them to get a nano sim

for the same tarriff on 3 sim0 + phone unlocked
£15.90 x12 + £529 = 719.8

£719 / 12m = £60 in my case if i put it on a credit card interest free for a year

Brought mine out right as my Three contract ends in November. Get them to to move my current deal to a nano sim and then downgrade to a 1 month contract with them in November. Save around £60 over 2 years plus I can move deals if I need to. :)

Hi guys. Just back from Three store (same numbers online).

New customers offered iPhone 5 32GB(on The Ultimate Internet Plan) at £37 a month plus £ 89 upfront. Thats £977 over 24 months
As an existing customer I was offered iPhone 5 32GB at £42 no cost. Thats £1008 over 24 months.
This is
So as an existing customer I have to pay more??? Am i missing something?

Comparing a tariff with an upfront cost to one without is not comparing like for like ;)
