Well that would be 50% less pixels to throw about compared to 1080p, you just wouldnt need to use that extra power on effects unless you are doing something technically performance sapping for the sake of it (think ray tracing the lighting system) or moved that towards other game systems (AI/physics)What kind of particle/graphics effects can we expect from PS4 if the resolution for a game is set at 720p, they would have a crazy amount of resources available to it. Even scarier is what kind of resolution would the XB1 version be to have to match it.
No doubt a resolution drop is useful and looking at the comments over the last few days its probably what developers are going to engage in more if gamers suggest they cant tell the difference. Got to wonder why BDs sell then if thats the case...
