**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Question, is there much of a story to the Dead Rising games. Say for example, I haven't played DR 1 or 2.. could I still pick up DR3 and enjoy it or would I need the back story for the best experience?
I'd say it would be worthwhile doing a bit of reading about the backstory so you know what's going on. I could sum it up in the Dead Rising 3 thread if you like?

Xbox1 has just come onto my radar. :D My old mate has sparked my interest as we think we have missed the boat with the PS4 release. We're thinking get an Xbox1 & get into it between November & Jan/Feb then decide whether to get a PS4 as well or instead of.

So...
Is there any shortage of units on day of release ?
What are the day of release games ?

Cheers. :)

Nah it's fine thanks, I can get it off wikia =) I'm not even sure I'm buying it yet, I have both consoles pre-ordered. Getting Killzone with PS4 and Ghosts with XB1 and I might (not sure yet) have enough money for 1 more game then it's just a matter of choosing what. Trying to decide between NFS Rivals, DR3 and Madden 25 at the moment.

Wonder if there will be any nice and completely OP outfits in Dead Rising 3 to unlock or find like the Mega Man outfit and blaster from DR1.

Just read that on their blog, Sony confirmed there'll be no MP3 playback, external hard drives won't be supported and DLNA streaming is a big no-no on its new console.

What have MS confirmed? I love the streaming functions of the Xbox (and PS3) to lose them whould be a big loss to me and my NAS full of my ripped DVD/CDs.

Quite amusing considering Sony was the founder of the DLNA.

You can see why Sony have done it, to try and make more people to use there own store and it wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft did the same thing, it is however a little rubbish on there part.

Hopefully they turn it around, bit of a joke if they remove it.

Hmm, I don't have any optical sound source for the One. No headsets mean I'm going to have no sound, anyway of connecting the xbox to your pc to get sound output that way?

Get some Edifier S730's! ;)

I'm guessing (if I understand this right - currently reading Quantum mechanics and electron shielding, so... :p) you will need to make use of either the optical or sound over HDMI, but how you manage that, I have no idea. That was one of the pro's for me to upgrade :p

As can I MS will want me to buy movies and subscribe to Zune. I however have hundreds if not thousands of pounds worth of stuff i have already paid for and would like to stream from my server something i do very well on my current gen set up.

Guess its a reason to keep the old console plugged in, I always liked PS3 streaming better as i loved the Bluetooth remote much more than the POS one MS came up with. Shame my PS3 is 7,000+ miles away

What's everyone's plans regarding sound? Especially if playing on a monitor?

I'm thinking of going from the monitor this time and start using a big tv from the sofa, instead of desk gaming. I've always used a 24 inch monitor but if I have to buy this kinect crap I may as well move it to somewhere I could possibly use it. Plus my son is getting to the age he might try a few of those wavy arm games.

I'm kind a lucky, my GT50 will stream nicely from my NAS so no need to power up a console. :)
