Doctor Who

Much better episode I thought. Still not as good as it could be though. More science is needed and less OP sonic screwdriver usage to open impregnable doors etc. It just feels lazy. I found it quite funny how they all looked perfect 2 mins after coming out of the slime pool too. Funny little continuity stuff but nothing unforgivable I guess.

^ I do agree.

The Rani! Now that's one hell of a find Simian, she certainly looks the part. I wonder what affiliation she has to collect them and whether they're being sent or being taken.

I heard someone ask if it could be an escaped echo from Clara but the Rani would be so much better.

I bet you're right with the Rani guess, I'm picturing it's one of her experiments and that place she calls heaven may be the inside of her Tardis somehow?

Would be interesting if it was her, we've not seen her since the original run I think. Although thinking about it, it would put a dent in the last of the time lords story.

Lol continuity.

I just rewatched the Eleventh Hour last night and man I completely forgot how good that episode was, don't think I appreciated it as much when it first came out, probably because I was still disappointed my favourite doctor (Tennant) had left.

Karen Gillan's performance was also pretty good and for me it's going to be tough for JLC to live up to her.

- Smith's first episode was far better

Go on, say it, you know you want to.

Karen Gillan's performance was also pretty good and for me it's going to be tough for JLC to live up to her.

Didn't you think Karen Gillan played the part as a complete lecturing know it all, barely smiling or enjoying herself, desperately trying to wear the trousers while being demeaning and insulting to Rory who literally waited 2000 years to be with her again.

She was a horrible example of a human being... or just a regular woman :)

Thought it was a pretty good episode as well, major tonal shift though from last season which can be a bit off-putting at times. Pretty violent as well for a supposed kids show. The ending was a bit heartbreaking but Capaldi is putting on an excellent show.

I wonder could Missy perhaps be Valeyard related and we could be getting a female Doctor after all.

Does anyone remember the episode with the Master in it? During Tennants reign? Where the Master "died" and it ended with you seeing a womans hand picking up the Masters ring from the dirt?

Was that ever explained, or is that Missy?

The Master's wife shot her husband and was still alive after he died. Then Tennant respectfully cremated him but we only saw a female hand reaching into the burnt embers plucking out The Masters ring way afterwards at the end of the episode

I don't know if it was The Masters wife that grabbed the ring as she was quite young and, granted she was wearing the same red nail varnish, the hand that grabbed the ring was that of a much older woman and we heard an evil laughter (which could have been the masters laugh I guess).

Bloody hell Tombstone, that's one impressive memory you have mate. It could easily be related.

EDIT: Apparently there is heavy claim that it was Rani's hand but RTD denied the connection.

I don't think it helped with Rory being such a weak character at times but I genuinely felt some of her performances were absolutely brilliant.
The eleventh hour, the girl who waited and angels take Manhattan are some of my favourite performances.

JLC on the other hand seems quite drab to me, but man is she so hot.

You're not alone, she had some great episodes and Rory wasn't exactly an assertive character but I was ready for her bossy backside to leave.

Tbh I think I could have done a few more episodes with her in it, I definitely feel she deserved to be in the 50th anniversary episode especially as I consider her as one of the best companions, however saying that, I still feel her exit was really well done and it was a genuinely moving moment.

I had to look it up to get the details, but it was a prison guard. It's in 'Last of the Time Lords Part 1 Scene 5'

Miss Trefusis was head prison guard of Broadfell Prison, which held Lucy Saxon, as well as a member of a cult that worshiped Harold Saxon.
Trefusis knew about Harold Saxon and was sent to collect his ring. (TV: Last of the Time Lords) The governor, several guards and she resurrected the Master. The Master took her life energy, killing her, as well as that of several prison staff. (TV: The End of Time)

BEHIND THE SCENES edit
The identity of the woman seen collecting the ring at the end of Last of the Time Lords was a matter of much speculation until it was revealed to be Trefusis.
As the actual character had not yet been cast, Trefusis' hand in Last of the Time Lords was "played" by production manager Tracie Simpson.

The Woman is either a Female incarnation of the Master (Missy... Miss... Master!!) or she might even be The Rani

Missy

Really? i assumed it was the tardis again... after all we know it has a female personality and saving people who have sacrificed themselves because of her "boyfriend" may be her way of setting things right.

Everyone i spoke too about it also just assumed it was the tardis herself.

Maybe the tardis turns out to be more than we thought. I mean if she sends him where she wants and makes him do what she wants then she was responsible for clara "the impossible girl" and the tardis herself pretty much made the dr choose to steal her!

Maybe the tardis is the closest thing to god, after all she/it is a self aware being that can see all of time and space. A being with that ability can control everything by steering others to do its will. Maybe this "broken" tardis was the first/only tardis to become self aware??
