+1 for Soul Revolver cafe racer. I love mine. They aren't really made to measure though nowadays (I think they used to do that). You do have to submit your sizing (chest, waist, shoulders etc) for them to check it will ift but the jackets are still "small, medium, large" etc.

Slightly higher than that budget though.

I decided to overspend a little and get the Soul Revolver jacket, and I must say I absolutely love it, though have some anxieties about it.

Got the Cafe Racer in antique brown, it arrived yesterday afternoon, I was considering sending it back as it really is quite snug against my body, but it's not uncomfortably tight. The fit is very similar to how it fits the model, and I think if I went up a size it'd be too loose.

With that said, how much did yours expand over time (if at all)? Because it really is on the edge and I suspect I am really somewhere between sizes, but I don't want to send it back, wait another fortnight for it to come then find I have to return it for what I originally had.

Mine was a great fit when I got it (38" chest and I went for the medium). However I've put on about an inch around my chest and also broadened my shoulder since I got it. Mine is now very snug indeed but that's because my shape has changed rather than the jacket (lots of weights). It hasn't stretched too much because I went for the much thicker "Winchester" leather. Having said that I still absolutely love it and am still happy with the fit. Bear in mind it's supposed to be quite snug as (real) cafe racer jackets were meant for high speed motorbike dashes (take a look at the history of cafe racers).

But if you're not happy then you can return it, and I would say return it if you're unsure as it is a lot of money.

Have you noticed it makes your whole house smell great too :D
 
Yeah the leather smell is quite strong, it's great! I now have 2 leather jackets that have the same grade leather and as such the same smell :D

I haven't worn mine enough for it to loosen yet but even as it is, it's snug if I wear it over a sweater top and nearly snug if worn over a t-shirt/shirt. The design is such that it should be snug though, as far as vintage leather jackets of this style go anyway I guess!

I'm so indecisive over everything though haha. I'm 39" chest and it is snug, I don't really zip it up over my chest though, just around the stomach. I do think it's fine though, and the smell is lovely :P

I doubt I could wear mine with anything more than a thin jumper, a V-neck maybe. It's tight just in a shirt.

You sound a similar build to me (now probably around a 39" chest but with quite broad shoulders and a 30" waist). I wear mine the same way; mostly unzipped but when it is zipped then half to two thirds closed with the top part open.

I just tried mine on again and am happy with the size as I haven't worn it in a few weeks. The beauty struck me as I took it out of the cupboard :) I know that a larger size would be less fitted arounds my waist. It does also feel like it's stretched a little, but not much.

It really depends on what you want from the jacket and how you would wear it. I would only ever wear it with a t-shirt underneath. When I occasionally wore a jumper it was instead of a t-shirt, not with both. I think it would be too snug with both a t-shirt and jumper.

One thing to note is that it isn't a warm jacket unless you opted for the thermal lining. So it's really a late spring to early autumn jacket. So if you wanted to wear it into the colder months then you'd need to wear layers underneath it, and it's probably too snug for that. But if you expect to only wear it in spring/autumn with just a t-shirt then it sounds fine - assuming your fit is indeed similar to mine.

I've deliberately taken a step down in size for some of my clothes to get a better fit, even though it felt odd to start with. But ultimately if you aren't really sure then for large cost items then it's always better to err on the side of caution.

Maybe post some pics to see how it fits?

I'll try and post something tomorrow in better light, my room isn't particularly well-lit. Probably a good idea, can get some other opinions - some friends have said it's good but a couple saying it's too tight.

I'm not expecting to wear mine with a jumper underneath, just a T-shirt or shirt, and using it as a spring/autumn/cold Scottish summer days jacket. But we may well be quite similar in shape - I'm 6'1", 32 inch waist (though I need to get exercising, the beer is beginning to show haha) and the 39ish chest.

On the whole it does feel good, but again, I'll try and get a few photos tomorrow.
 
The biker Soul Revolver leather jackets don't really stretch. The Wraith I have is a pretty snug around the shoulders for me now (froms weights). The waist length coats (Forsaken, Heist) will soften more than stretch.
 
I've been ordering a lot of Next stuff lately... where I live the prices are insanely cheaper due to lack of VAT etc. Basically every £100 that items would cost on the UK shop equals £68 that I pay in my country, which means that I am saving a fortune on the good blazers and suits etc. Going to replace a lot of my essential daily work wear etc. :)

Well, I ordered 4x blazers from ASOS, all slim fit and all pure 100% wool... the first just arrived and it fits so closely and sharply that it's like it was tailored for me... it is badass. Lovely build quality and lining too.

I paid 40 quid for that blazer... yes 40 quid for a pure wool blazer. The rest were between 35 quid and 60 quid. Mind bogglingly good value.

Can anyone recommend a smart bag for work? Something between a messenger bag and a briefcase. I currently use a 7 year old Jansport backpack and it isn't smart enough.

Doesn't need to carry much but I'd like to fit a 70-100cl water bottle and a small lunch box.
Other than that just daily items like wallet, keys etc.
 
I need some rugged brown leather boots. Something that will last and keep the water out but also something versatile and simply stylish you can wear with jeans out to bars/pubs etc.

Can anyone recommend some brands. Timberland, Rockport?

Thirteen is surely above the average though? That's all the clothing/footwear manufacturers care about.

I'm quite on the small/slim size and have found myself being relegated from S to XS in recent years and there are some brands I can no longer wear. All because people are getting fatter and the stores don't want to just make more Extra sizes. :(:mad::p

Just a quick one. Does anyone have any experience of the quality of clothes made by "1 Like No Other"? In parcular their jackets but any experiences would be useful. Thank you.
