Well I just flashed my non-OC Strix to an OC. Power target now showing 120 instead of only 112 etc.
Flashed my Asus Strix 1070 (non-OC) with the OC bios. Eventually I worked out that I needed 5.292 version: https://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2709/nvflash-5-292-0-for-windows/mirrors

Follow the instructions and put that in a folder called nvflash on the C drive along with the rom. ***BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL BIOS ****
DISABLE YOUR 1070 ADAPTER IN DEVICE MANAGER
Open a CMD window with Administrator permisions.
Then use these 3 commands:
nvflash -i0 --protectoff
nvflash -i0 -6 Asus.rom (Where Asus.rom is the name of the rom file to flash).
nvflash -i0 --protecton
RE-ENABLE 1070 adapter in device manager.
Reboot your PC, and cross your fingers.

I don't get artifacting, but running firestrike extreme in the second test it just quits and says "cancelled by user". Hmm.....
EDIT: Rebooted and did a custom fan profile and increased power by +100. Card ran Time Spy DX12 just fine, and was boosting to 2050Mhz, which is at least 100mhz more than previously.
EDIT2: Firestrike Extreme still keeps saying "Test Cancelled by User a short way into the second test". Hmm. Need to figure out if this is a glitch or a card issue (hence it isn't an 'OC' version because it didn't make the cut). (EDIT in and EDIT lol: This might be a bug with another program causing it to bail... I read someone using afterburner had this issue, but I am using GPU Tweak II).

Ask Kaapstad if it is cost effective to buy a 4x 480, 1060, 1080 and Titan X Pascal. Even though he says he is more into gaming side of things
Cost effective has nothing to do with what I was talking about. It is called Overclockers UK for a reason, people like to see what the highest their cards can OC stable.
That said I am actually a price for performance guy myself and no I would never watercool this card. It is barley audible as it is and 50-100MHz in pascal barely makes any difference to performance anyway.

My Zotac Amp Edition has faulty fans so is going back. I think one of them is off balance so at 80% fan speed the card vibrates and the card makes a weird sound. The sound only goes away when the fan slows back down to 60%.
I've ordered a Zotac Amp Extreme. Hopefully there are no off balance fans in that thing!

Hopefully not. But you will definitely have the fan revving issue which you will hear unless you have case fans setup very high, so be prepared to run MSI Afterburner and make a custom fan profile

So I flashed my BIOS back to a non-OC strix (my original bios) but the OC settings are still showing up in GPU Tweak. Weird.
Gonna do a complete reinstall of windows to get rid of any latent issues.

The Palit Super Jet Stream is a really nice card, it has samsung memory and is really quiet. Mine will oc to 2100/4700. Some people have reported Palit 1070's failing after a few hours use though. The zotac cards have good reviews but there is a problem with the fans stop/starting so you have to create a custom profile.

My Amp extreme has some slight rattle from one of the fans at about 1900rpm, so I set a fan profile to avoid that speed. Reluctant to return it as it sits happily at 2152/9500 (settles down to 2126 after a while though)
