Another Asus update!

Don't worry guys!

I have just been speaking to my man at Asus UK again this morning, and he has assured me that everyone who has not yet received any communication from them should do so within the next couple of days, as they are about to implement the system I mentioned earlier. (In post #95)

They still plan to ship out replacement boards on the day of receipt, so you should only be without one for a couple of days, (which is the same as MSI I believe) and which I don't think is too bad really.

I have just received my new P8P67 Deluxe board from Asus. It was picked up from UPS and judging by the timing, the replacement was despatched the same day they received back the faulty board. Ive been without my PC since last Monday night when I removed the faulty board so its been 7 days but bear in mind I live on an island and that has added time to the delay and also a weekend.

on the plus side, you don't have to tie any money up in Paypal for a few days, which is a bonus.

still, i wait with baited breath to see how quickly they implement there new system, & how they cope turn around time wise with the inevitable deluge of vanilla P8P67's.

Finaly got my email from asus just wanting my postcode & phone num just wonder tho do i send everything back or just the board?

All they want back is just the board itself... preferably in its original retail box.

There is no need to send back the cables etc as you will receive a full retail boxed replacement anyway.

When I received my first email, they called me back within 10 minutes of receiving my reply and arranged for it to be picked up the following day..

You can't get much better service than that! :)

Will do!

... and just show what they are sending out:

... all leads, and the latest (Feb 2011) User Guide were also included.

Another week gone by, still no contact from Asus at all.

Getting cheesed off by this to be honest, especially as it was for a friends build I got it for in the first place. :(

here we are, a week later & not a peep from Asus UK, why am i not surprised. :p

I am not really trying to stick up for Asus here, but it could just be that they have still not received the B3 boards for some of the more popular variants.

Mine was for the micro-ATX PRO board, which it appears was, for whatever reason, one of the first to be made available.

Although it can probably be found easily enough, with a bit of on-line searching, anyone who is getting a bit anxious can always call Asus UK on 01442 202700, and ask to speak to whoever who is dealing with the Sandy Bridge update programme.

For obvious reasons I would rather not quote individual names on an 'open' website, but the service I received from them could not have been quicker, or more personalised, and I know that some other members on here have also now received their 'new' boards.

... Well got a call and placed m/b only into the original box, all collected on Fri PM returned Tues AM. Great service and a complete new board as pictured above received, all leads etc.

BUT.. and a big but.

It does not boot, re assembled PC and checked all connections etc, green power light on m/b but pressing power does absolutely nothing at all, spin up on fans or any indication of power.

Any one have any ideas please .. could it be the CPU, don't know how it could be but nothing else makes sense... unless the m/b is faulty.

Looking on boards it does seem that the R3.0 boards are having issues so maybe its just the boards, will be talking to o/c support in morning may have to RMA the board and switch to another make.

Do you have to wrap the box up or anything or just hand the courier the box as is? Still awauting my email to say its replacement time :(

There are some useful tips and advice contained in the earlier posts on this page.

Basically just put the motherboard back into its anti static bag, inside the original retail box, and then put this into another box (I used an old Amazon one!) or even a black plastic bag will do, so as to give it a bit of protection whilst in transit, as all the courier will bring with him is a return address label to stick on the package.

I also gave a phone number a few posts ago, which you could call.

Other Retailer
I had my full refund completed on 1st Apr. This was well outside the 7 day / 28 day period (P8P67M-PRO was purchased 7-Feb) so if anyone wants a full refund from the retailer rather than waiting IT CAN happen.

Asus
Today I received a letter and a UPS label for returning the board. The letter has no customer name, number, mobo number on it - it's a generic Step One, Step Two, Step Three info page.

Step Three is for customer to call UPS on an 08457 number to arrange collection. Again further cost for the customer.

Good job I already had a refund with the retailer. I don't want anything to to with Asucks again.

Got my return label from ASUS this morning :)

ditto

& i'm now in 2 minds about sending it back, in the 2 months ive had it it's been utterly stable & faultless, zero issues what so ever, & it does seem to be a bit of a lottery with regards to mobo's atm.
