10GB vram enough for the 3080? Discuss..

Yes, whether that is by design or not who can say.

Actually hardly dare to go into this thread as the 10GB decision gets defended like crazy by the serial upgraders. And as you said, by the time it becomes and issue, they'll be on the next thing anyhow.

And any opinions of those who upgrade every 3-5 years and like to play heavily user modded games... Best to ignore or dismiss those.

No one is "defending" it, people are only pointing out that it isn't an issue in the so called "provided" examples such as RE village, godfall etc. especially when you have a select couple making it out like it's an issue in "loads" of games when as evidenced by the so called "defenders", it's not.

And no one is ignoring/dismissing about heavily modded games either, heck I even posted a video showing where you have a 100% genuine vram limitation via mods i.e. cp 2077 with "several" 4-8k texture packs, I don't mod games as much nowadays or rather newer games out there aren't as good/fun to mod but never encountered any issues with skyrim or fallout modded fairly heavily but YMMV if you're using other/more mods.

As already noted by several people, in 3-5 years, everyone on the current gen gpus are going to be dropping settings anyway or/and using higher presets of dlss/fsr (especially at 4k) due to lack of grunt, which in return is also going to drop vram usage.

It recommends the 3080ti as the 3080 isn't able to run 4K 60fps with max settings due to lack of grunt, they put 12gb of VRAM as that's what the 3080ti has but the game seems to use around 7gb at 4K ultra according to DF.

Saints Row system requirement is not quite accurate.

I dont know why Deep Silver Volition QA team recommended RX 6800 XT 16GB to run at Ultra max settings 4K 60 fps but GameGPU tested Saints Row revealed RTX 3080 Ti is the only card able to run 4K 60fps max settings with 62fps average. But RX 6800 XT 49fps and RX 6900 XT 52fps are slower than RTX 3080 10GB at 4K 55fps. RTX 3080 Ti used 6GB VRAM and RX 6900 XT used almost 8GB VRAM for 4K.

Saints Row will run absolutely fine at 4K max settings on RTX 3080 10GB.

Well Saints Row is a technical mess so I'm not surprised their system requirements would also be one.

Loving the ~'Thank **** it hasn't breached 10gb' comments.:p

Can I get the man with an axe to grind gif please @TNA

TBF, nvidia had some stinkers back in the day so it's only fair for it to be amds turn now :p

Lol. I am not keeping score to be honest. It is just funny coincidence. I am sure AMD will sponsor some good games soon. Good thing I will likely be on a next gen card by then so if it needs more vram I will be covered as I predicted :D

Oh and here you go :p

Remember a PhysX game named Dark Void? I remember that being a bad game sponsored with TWIMTBP.

It might not a game sponsorship but when I think of Nvidia‘s blunders Jensen holding a GPU made out of wood comes to mind. Oh and the more you buy the more you save! Wtf..
