Made me see the limits of my 10gb, and I'm fine with it. I could get it working without the HD pack, but the HD pack added.... Not enough for me. However, must be said I couldn't get it going with 10gb.

12gb was apparently enough for the HD pack (reduced from 16gb), which is why I'd actually be interested in how it runs on a 4070ti. Is it vram? Is it grunt?

TBF, I've stated many times how portal rtx is not a good example due to the tool remix being developed by nvidia and the portal implementation being done by nvidias own studio, meanwhile, with fc 6 texture rendering/loading issues, select couple were in denial about it being a game issue, fast forward to it being fixed by ubisoft (heck even their own promo footage has low res croco :cry:) which then got fixed and performance wise, well as we all know, it runs fine on my end, sorry let me go and force rebar on and disable fsr and only run the benchmark to force the choke :cry:

Fair point re: you mentioning remix being a poor example, think I remember that. Far Cry 6, not the same as my experience, but not going further on it.

Get lots more performance this time - only 10% last time.

£650 for 90% .......................................if you were quick and didn't sit around whining about the early price rises
£1400 for 100% +FC6 @ MSRP ............................................................................FC6 = Justified

£1700+ for 180% - (or 2x 10GB 3080's @ 4k) <<<<<< THAT'S justified

4090 = £300-£500 outlay for 10GB owners to finally pay £10 for FC6 (as it was soooo amazin')..................................... to find out the NPC's on hard level had more AI than a 3090 FOMO owner.

At least RT is enjoyable for some, FC6 isn't.

NPC's in FC6 were modelled on 3090 owners, standing there in shock from a 3090 price and performance realization in all other games. :cry:

Did you pay MSRP for FC6 too or just manage the 10%?

Didn't you upgrade your 3090? The 4090 was only just a little more expensive than the £1400 you paid last time :cry:

There's a massive thread about 10GB being enough for the 3080 and it's mostly about Far Cry 6 to be fair. In my experience the benchmark uses about 11GB max at 2160p max settings which will cause the 3080 to divebomb in FPS. A 4070Ti should be fine but there could be other stuff in background using up VRAM.

At the end of the day, fc 6 is just a bad example all round to show any vram issues given it clearly is not optimised correctly when it comes to vram management or/and texture streaming especially when it was launched as you had the texture rendering/loading issues which were even happening on consoles and shown in ubis pr footage :cry: But most importantly your fps should not plummet and stay at low double digits or single digits for the rest of the time, when I asked for other examples where this happened, no one provided any and still haven't to this day where as we have plenty of examples where performance doesn't suffer even when all the vram is being used or even hitting it's peak as shown in my videos for likes of doom eternal, deathloop, msfs, re village, re 2 remake (games all with supposed awful performance issues because of vram)






At worst, you should see frame latency all over the place, frame spikes throughout or/and textures streaming in.

But nope, FC 6 = the be all
