So where are all these dead 14th gen CPUs then? looks like the YouTube tech scene has gone very very quiet on the subject.
There is/was certainly an issue, but it seems to have been resolved by a combination of bios updates and possibly some updates pushed via windows update.
Undervolting will further add a layer of protection, although the newer bioses may well have voltage limits on them anyway, I'm unsure about that.
Also it's unclear just how widespread it was - the usual youtubers were certainly suffering from the typical hysteria though, I think!
I don't think I'd buy a second hand one as you don't know it's history, but other than that I wouldn't be too worried.
Not sure the gigabyte has any bios updates as certified with v1.0 I could not find any other updates on website ,also is HW monitor a free application.I'd update the BIOS for sure.
To check voltages and temps, just run HWmonitor in the background and then run cinebench to load up the CPU to 100%.

Intel "Bartlett Lake" Appears as a P/E-Core Hybrid, P-Core Only CPUs Could Soon Follow
Intel has launched its first wave of Bartlett Lake processors, introducing hybrid-core models specifically designed for embedded systems, with pure performance-core (P-core) variants scheduled to follow later. The initial release, unveiled at CES, showcases the processors through congatec's new...www.techpowerup.com
There's still a fair amount of interest in Bartlett Lake SKU's. The 12 P core SKU is of particular interest to enthusiasts if they do indeed come to retail.
Could still be some life left in LGA 1700 boards with these.
No, it won't appeal to someone with some knowledge wanting to build a new system. It could still be a drop in though for people still using the platform.
Some really cheap motherboards in the secondhand market as well.
Would be cool if they see the light of day in a proper desktop form but just seem to be embedded only for now. Would imagine a lot of people would like 12P and no e-cores.
I am also hoping there is a 'K' version of the Bartlett Lake cpu's available, if they come to market.
14700k User here, updated my motherboard prior to install of the cpu bios with the update microcode 0x12B, no issues with the exception it runs hot, so I had to do an undervolt 0.150V
Undervolting these chips is definately the way to go.14700k User here, updated my motherboard prior to install of the cpu bios with the update microcode 0x12B, no issues with the exception it runs hot, so I had to do an undervolt 0.150V

I used the Intel Windows overclocking utilities, it helps not having to mess with the bios all the timeMine doesn't like undervolting - though I haven't persisted with it to be fair - though on the flip side it will do a 4 core 6GHz boost with hardly any change to voltages or temperatures. From a fairly superficial look at it seems one core doesn't have much voltage headroom at stock before it becomes unstable but seems happy to go upwards.

Fair point I only used it to tame the beast in terms of temps, it would regularly hit 100c and my Noctua NH-D12L was struggling a bit.I'm happy enough with the stock performance (speed and power/thermals) of mine I don't have much motivation to dabble with it muchand it is difficult to get meaningful gains out of overclocking with these chips without going to significant efforts either.
