Really? The BBC wording is a bit ambiguous. If true then that's definitely out of order.
A new law - which may be announced in the forthcoming Queen's Speech in May - would not allow GCHQ to access the content of emails, calls or messages without a warrant.
But it would enable intelligence officers to identify who an individual or group is in contact with, how often and for how long. They would also be able to see which websites someone had visited.
Let the *** blow something up once in a while, let the gchq and police get warrents like they currently do.
This is one law I will join a protest against
For example this ^, they could snoop your post using the new hardware and arrest you because of a terrorist threat
Protest in this country has long been established not to work and very difficult to do without ending up on a watch list, kettled for the day, and probably beaten, arrested with your supposed "rights" being taken away.
The only thing left is indeed a V for Vendetta style campaign imo.
Look how all the pathetic people joined in on the side of the state against the disenfranchised youth during the riots, but haven't done a damn thing about the bankers and politicians who bankrupted the country.
As stupid as it sounds, it makes me glad to be an atheist white male in his 20s.
Haha, good look in the imminent Eurabia! Though I guess you can always leave the continent.
You talk to your representatives. That's what they are for.
Not that I agree with what's going on but I thought they could already access this information. Isn't that one of the main attributes of GCHQ, to intercept communications?
First mistake is thinking we are free already...
other than that i agree.

This is a step too far for me. I understand that this information is valuable to the intelligence services, but this a liberty I don't think anyone should willingly give up.
