1st may voting

It really ***** me off that the London Mayoral election is only open to those resident in London. It doesn't take into account those who work in London, or spend a lot of time in London for varoius reasons. I'd love to be able to vote agaist that tosspot Ken, but now can't.
Sadly, what happens in London does have a significant impact on the rest of the country, whether we like it or not, and that we don't get a say frustrates the hell out of me...

Would be voting Boris but wasn't able to get my proxy vote sorted in time as I won't be in london.

Was surprised to see that there are a number of NF candidates going in my local area :/ along with the usual BNP ones.

I went and voted about 8pm. We had the usual Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrat choices in my area (Lea & Cottam, Preston) and I chose Liberal Democrat just like I did last time. The reasons for this were pretty simple.

1.) The Liberal Democrat candidate was the only one who bothered posting a single thing. She posted out dozens of newsletters, flyers, posters and even garden signs (on request). Neither the Labour nor Conservative candidates bothered posting anything at all, to anyone as far as I know.

2.) One of the other two wants to build a landfill very close by, can't remember specifically which one it is.

3.) The Conservatives in my area want to cut funding for the Citizen's Advice Breau and the Women's Refuge organisations. I can not for the life of me figure out why someone would cut them.
