The congestion charge for some cars is £25!?!? Riiiight, can't really see how anyone can possibly endorse someone who thinks that one up.

But it saves the planet, it makes people pay to use public transport rather than drive their massive engined environment killing cars around london :p

Youve gotta love Ken for his amazing ideas on how to save the planet, not slate him for his money grabbing methods, as hes not a money grabber really, he really cares about the environment!

please note, some sarcasm may be included in this post

"Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity, nothing exceeds the criticisms of the habits of the poor by the well housed, well warmed and well fed"

Sounds like the sort of drivel concocted from socialism.

This country has enough input from council estates as it is. Pandering to the uneducated to remain in power is a recipe for disaster.

Because of course, less money means they are less important than you.

Honestly, I would rather have 1000 people that live on council estates in peace (so not the criminals / hooligans) than even one of the likes of people with opinions like yours.

It's an absolute joke, I've had enough of this "Green" nonsense. What with the car tax increases too. When will people look at the facts rather than pander to this ridiculous notion that driving a Prius is saving a polar bear? Not being a londoner I presume Red Ken's congestion charge based on a C02 tariff?

Less important? No. Equally important.
Less capable of making informed decisions to choose the best direction for this country? Generally, yes.

The lesser educated (normally from the lower classes) generally exercise knee jerk politics, are influenced by grossly sensationalised media and believe that Britain can exist in some sort of neo-communist/socialist utopia where everyone can frolic around, holding hands and watching Jeremy Kyle whilst the economy will take care of itself. Running a country is easy. Short of money? Take it from those who have more than you. Simple!

I come from a council estate and most of my childhood was spent being relatively poor. I may come across as a snob but I'm far from it. I am, however, lucky enough to consider myself reasonably well educated and consider myself a realist. I don't pander to one particular ideaology, I just want what's best for the country and I strongly believe that a country run by the lower classes (i.e. people like my father) is a country destined for the scrapyard.

I could convince myself that fighting for the man and embracing tabloid politics gives me the right to stand tall on some sort of moral high ground up there with Che Guevara, but I'd rather people spat at me and called me a snob than throw my beliefs out the window to impress my chums.

In that case, why do you rush to dismiss your equals?

Technically, you are from a "lower class" than I was born into - so based on that, should I simply dismiss the rights of you and your parents to vote simply because it is likely that you are a bunch of scummers?

What is your solution, or are you just making a load of noise without any actual means of carrying out what you preach? Would there be some sort of heritage test? IQ test at the polling station? Certain addresses blacklisted? Required to show up with your newspaper for that day?

Hold on, I'm not talking about removing the right to vote. Far from it. Everyone is entitled to their vote regardless of background, colour or creed.

I was expressing my belief that those who fit into the demograph I explained in my previous post are leading Britain up the Swanee.

Well what do you propose to do about it? Seems a bit of a daft position to take (opposing one of the fundamentals of democracy) without something to back your position up!

I have never said I agree with Ken's policies - I think he is an idiot. However, he has a right to do what he is doing, and disagree with his ideals or not, you have to respect the process.

(opposing one of the fundamentals of democracy)
Remind me, which of the fundamentals of democracy am I opposing?

You're preaching to the converted here. I do not disrespect the process and at no point have I alluded to doing so. I was merely stating my belief on why I think Britain's **** are rapidly on their way to pointing skywards.

London's mayoral candidates explained in Simpson terminology:

Ken Livingstone - Montgomery Burns
