I was just saying that there was loads of Chinese people in Vancouver when I went, pertinent to the discussion about Canadian immigration policy.

No idea what the intent of the comment was but I will certainly say that I was quite impressed with the Canadian immigration system. Though of course, as its the first time I will be involved in emigrating, I don't really have anything to directly compare it to. But it seemed sturdy and thorough. I believe the current illegal immigrant figures in Canada number around 120,000. Which when you consider the size of the country is a fairly token amount (To compare, I believe the current illegal immigrant figures in the UK number around 710,000...much smaller amount of terrain to fit them in though of course). Obviously one of those two countries is somewhat tougher to reach than the other and it can clearly be argued that each country has its own pro's for being a target destination, which may outweigh the choice of the other country as a target destination. (not that I am suggesting that anybody weighs up the two against each other as a choice)

You contrasted Canada's managed, legal immigration policy against our "chaotic free for all", but added "that said, there were loads of Chinese people in Vancouver".
How else to read but that Chinese immigrants were a bad consequence of an otherwise better immigration system?
Your inference is interesting, I never thought that having loads of Chinese people could be perceived as a bad thing.
